I presume they are doing this as usual in the final? I reckon between the top 3 in the market this could be tight enough to all come down to who gets the best/most popular 'professional' to perform with.

Olly should have p1ssed up then Plain
Report stringerbell December 5, 2010 12:19 AM GMT
shouldnt be tight enough

one d will get take that
rebecca will get whitney houston probably
matt, hmm, harder to assess - any views?
Report Benjy December 5, 2010 12:29 AM GMT
George Michael was far more of a 'coup' than Robbie tbf and also has his fair share of fans (despite everything).

Also last years wasn't close going into the final. Joe was a much more obvious winner than Matt, at least in my (and my books) opinion anyway.
Report stringerbell December 5, 2010 12:51 AM GMT
i think most of his fans love the way he drives around off his tits looking for ****s. proper rock n roll

Great point, well made, imo.

Probably already on here somewhere but the Metro have a story of a Matt and Christina Aguilera duet.
Report layprofessional December 7, 2010 6:46 AM GMT
rebecca wins by a mile u clueless fools

My ideal duet set up would be...

Wand Erection - Boyzone
Cher - Lady Sovereign
Matt - Howard Jones
Rebecca - Whitney Houston

Well I can dream FFS! Silly
Report attitude adjuster December 7, 2010 11:09 AM GMT
Howard Jones would probably be a safer bet than Whitney Mischief
Report johnwark December 7, 2010 11:31 AM GMT
Aren't Take That on Strictly this week, would they be able to do both?

Layers hoping for a Westlife snoozefest presumably
Report stringerbell December 7, 2010 11:37 AM GMT
is that right john? because there is no way they would do both???? if that is the case, it's prob jls or westlife for one d, the latter obviously being the kiss of death
Report squares December 7, 2010 11:42 AM GMT
Not sure what night they will be shown on SCD, prob Sunday results show recorded Sat night), although quite often the guest appearances are already recorded.

Last year Spandau Ballet were on SCD on a night they were playing live in Glasgow iirc.

Someone told me Matt was doing a duet with Bruno Mars. I'm not sure if it's true or not.
Report Benjy December 7, 2010 1:39 PM GMT
Bruno Mars is class imo but surely not well known enough at the moment.
Report NXRBL December 7, 2010 1:50 PM GMT
Nick - the Westlife thing might not be too far off, mate.
I can recall reading and hearing the Westlife boys ramping 1D throughout.
Shane and Kian for sure said 1D would win. Nicky was for Mary iirc
And Mark said he wanted Diva Fever all the way! Blush
Report BarnabySpears December 7, 2010 2:13 PM GMT
Cher could do a duet with any old bloke with an accordion and a dog.
Report stringerbell December 7, 2010 2:36 PM GMT
i have heard, seriously, that cher is doing a duet with this bloke, yet to be 100 per cent confirmed but think it's right

Yeah, they would gel together quite nicely and produce a splendid freakshow..
Report BarnabySpears December 7, 2010 2:41 PM GMT
I think Cowell is actually having a look around some of the local circuses to see if they can find a performing dog or pig to duet with her.

Now THAT'S one to back for Christmas Number One!!!  Laugh

Wonder if Tina and Chandi are upto much these days Barnaby.

Dunno mate but what I do know is that Norris Cole from Corrie is Cheryl's Great Uncle in Law and will definitely be duetting with Matt on Sunday.

Rumour also has it that Ken Barlow will be doing a dance number with Rebecca.
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B December 7, 2010 4:03 PM GMT
With Ken doing the dance around her and her just standing glued to the spot?  ......Thought so.
Report Golfpunter December 7, 2010 4:13 PM GMT
Nick - Nearly pi$$ed myself with laughter watching that video. Brilliant.
Report stringerbell December 7, 2010 5:21 PM GMT

Report stringerbell December 7, 2010 5:22 PM GMT
'head dance' , and i just love 18 seconds in
Report stringerbell December 7, 2010 5:34 PM GMT
the other thing of interest is that this bloke is being talked up as a judge next year

if they do go with adele and bruno mars, it is a huge step down in calibre of guests....
i would be surprised, and i think they will try to pull something really big out of the bag with rebecca particularly.....

my guesses

cher - dizzee
one d - westlife
matt - paul mccartney
rebecca - prince
Report stringerbell December 7, 2010 6:07 PM GMT
no they'll definitely have a band, jls or westlife or take that without doubt

i'd like to see rebecca do darling nicky with prince
Report Dizzy42 December 7, 2010 7:09 PM GMT
My views, for what they're worth:

Matt - funnily enough I originally thought Paul McCartney, but the Christina link could be plausible as she's due to be in town to promote her new film Burlesque
One Direction - I originally thought Take That, but after the boy band week maybe they're all too obvious; surely they can't wheel out Westlife again?!
Cher - they need to come up with someone original for her; I thought Will I Am initially, but then they appeared in the semis - someone like Tinchy Stryder perhaps?!
Rebecca - I heard that Prince had been signed up to perform this series before the live shows started, so this could actually be a real possibility
Report NXRBL December 7, 2010 7:27 PM GMT

Lol at Dom Joly's comment about who the hell is Tinchy Stryder!?!?!
Report Dizzy42 December 7, 2010 11:46 PM GMT
Yep, I know, but bang on for her target audience - and he's had the most chart success in 2010 by some margin...

Fortunately I am NOT Cher's target audience and would probably side with Dom Joly on this one!
