because barring a disaster he has won this..
reason being.. i feel that most people have pretty much made their mind up who they want to win..and who they will vote for
admittedly Matt was pretty average tonight compared to his usual standard but given his illlness thats understandable... who cares as long as he gets into the final next week..
what counts is that since the start of the show matt has been consistently the best performer
tonight both rebecca and one D had a huge chance to take advantage of matts illness and close the gap.
but neither of them really delivered the knock out performance.. .. they just dont have the start quality
rebeccas amazing grace was good, but it wasnt the amazing performance that she needed.. i was worried that she would stun us all with something extraordinary but as in previous weeks she didnt and One D are just so average, and lack any real substance
so one must conclude that Matt has had his blip this week, and next week he will be back to his best.. and will just pull away
given his level of public support and how far ahead he is in most of the polls then all he has to do is nail his songs next week and its in the bag.

Yes no one has a response to the fact that Matt is the one to beat. I'd love to ask them all if they had one jackpot ticket going through to the last leg for a million pound win who would they put that ticket on in the final HONESTLY all books aside? If their life depended on it and they had to pick the winner to save themselves who would they HONESTLY who would they pick all books aside?
It's asking yourself that question that can only come to one conclusion if people are being HONEST. If Matt never got about 80% of the jackpot tickets going on him or 80% of the people choosing him for the life or death situation and everyone was being TOTALLY HONEST I'd be very suprised. Yes my forecast bet would be Matt to beat Rebecca. Just think the boyband although nice decent likeable enough lads are very very average. Winners of the X Factor? Surely not.

i would hardly call it a major drift.. not much change at all in the odds. he's still well odds on with all firms
Yes to be honest he was about 4/5 and now he's about 10/11 so that's really nothing is it.
DS polls are notoriously innaccurate. There are other more reliable polls that have matt ahead and i shall be watching them with interest this week. He's about 14% clear at the moment but that's not untouchable.
Sad to see that rebecca is losing some votes from people who can't have Biffa winning again.

Matt's comments on Wagner and Katie, reports of Cher's tantrum with Cheryl and general ungrateful attitude are notoriously signs of a contestants eventual downfall. Rebecca has managed to stay out of the papers, and get unique comments from judges on her 'genuine' 'what you see is what you get' personality.
In addition to this we know local votes are a huge factor. Rebecca is from Liverpool (how can we forget) population 450,000 not everyone from pool is going to vote but the mulit-voters will cover them so I would say half a million votes are already in the bag.
Her "lack of confidence" has been a running theme from the start, and despite what they've said, they do want someone with a 'story' - when selling the show to viewers in America, it sounds more interesting than Matt, who is incredibly talented but hasnt had as much of a 'journey'

Matt is so far and away the most talented act it's not even funny. He has never been anything less than good at all of the genres he's attempted, he doesn't have a hardwired default act ( Cher = sh1tty little rap, Rebecca = turn every song into a gospel number, he plays the guitar and has provided the two genuine 'drop your bacon sandwich' moments of the live shows (Nights In White Satin and First Time Ever I saw Your Face)
Unfortunately, it's turning into the 'anyone but Matt' show now, with every other act being ramped (even down to downright lies about Rebecca's 'dancing'), not-so-subtle digs at him not being a trouper due to his illness (not helped by that awful VT piece of him being fed lemsips by his mummy) then getting the graveyard slot whilst Wand Ercection MAGICALLY perform last (wonder how that decsion was made?)
It's all probably to try to diminish the fact he's overwhelming favourite. No competition likes having something that's an absolute shoe-in going into the final, so the whole show is trying like crazy to even up the playing field.

Yes I've thought that for a few weeks now. It seems to be that he does look far and away the winner so to make a game of it they're trying to handicap him a bit. I honestly think he's easily the stand out act with not much to beat at all. I said before I'd rate him about a Group 2 horse whereas the best the others can muster is about a 90 rated handicapper. A long long way clear imo.

rebecca's performances of "make you feel my love" and "amazing grace" were both superior to FTEISYF for my money. but each to their own.

No clip is going to convince me, I have seen him perform every week and Rebecca in my opinion is different class, but I suppose its all about own personal tastes.

Lou..... The odds i dont bother about I would imagine the vast majority of the public dont punt and have no agenda. I just feel Rebecca would be a better winner, far more likely to go to the very top over all others.

Why do you keep questioning my views on Rebecca, I have already stated I think she is on a different level, I also think she should win, I also believe Rebecca is the only one capable of going to the very top. Whatever happens at the weekend wont change my views about both acts, so polls or odds make no difference to my opinion.

If you add up Rebecca's total percentages below it comes to approx' 84% if you add up Matt's it comes to 114%. You can average it out of course with the same result. Matt therefore has roughly about a third more.

Lou you cant work it out like that, adding them to get a figure. Thats like saying if Rebecca is 1% behind Matt in 100 polls he has double her votes.
rebecca backers... its time you faced facts and faced the truth... shes a nice girl, and she's a great singer etc BUT She isnt going to win... because Matt Cardle is actually better, more popular and will get more votes

I'm not denying Rebecca MIGHT win but realistically she's bound for second and like you say every poll has Matt a long way clear, he's been favourite from day 1, is odds on as we speak and is the only act to have had a standing ovation from all four judges. They can't deny surely that his First Time Ever really was the top moment of this how so far either.

Im not one for watching the x factor much in previous years, but someone stated someone was 1/7 and was beaten, you would assume he must have been leading every poll to be that price.

AI - Lambert led every poll every week. Kris Allen won
.and this year Crystal led nearly every week, but was beaten in the end.
CBB - Vinnie Jones led every single poll up until the last few days and lost.

Sorry Lou, but I have blocked you as well. You were right in your earlier post, I'm always having a pop at you, it doesn't make me feel good and I'm sure it doesn't make you feel good either. Trouble is you say so many things that I find it impossible not to challenge and I get increasingly wound up when however well I think my arguments are put together I get nowhere. Like most people on here you bring the worst out in me, I've tried ignoring your posts, but I keep getting dragged in. Its a waste of time and energy, so time to bow out. Maybe we can start afresh next year and you can learn from the fact that you have alienated so many decent people on here. Maybe you will be able to be an open minded useful contribuor to the forum rather than the stubborn, infuriating fool you have been this year. His voice is weak and irritating.All he does is waaaa yeeeahhhh.Its so boring and he has no real talent.
He says he deserves it because he has been in the music game for years.But he failed because people
didnt want what he has to offer.Now he doesnt want to compete just hand in his sick note every week and
tell the voters it was krraap because he has a sick note.Sorry but voters are well and truly fed up with Matt.
