because barring a disaster he has won this..
reason being.. i feel that most people have pretty much made their mind up who they want to win..and who they will vote for
admittedly Matt was pretty average tonight compared to his usual standard but given his illlness thats understandable... who cares as long as he gets into the final next week..
what counts is that since the start of the show matt has been consistently the best performer
tonight both rebecca and one D had a huge chance to take advantage of matts illness and close the gap.
but neither of them really delivered the knock out performance.. .. they just dont have the start quality
rebeccas amazing grace was good, but it wasnt the amazing performance that she needed.. i was worried that she would stun us all with something extraordinary but as in previous weeks she didnt and One D are just so average, and lack any real substance
so one must conclude that Matt has had his blip this week, and next week he will be back to his best.. and will just pull away
given his level of public support and how far ahead he is in most of the polls then all he has to do is nail his songs next week and its in the bag.
Matt wins this.. with Rebecca 2nd. (NAP)

Mary ??? gone tommorow ? Cher ?? wont even get to the final 3 One D ? the bronze medal rebecca ? a well deserved 2nd place the only person who could possibly deny Matt winning this is Rebecca and each week she is unable to deliver, her performances are good, she is a great singer. rebecca would have to deliver something so stunning and special in the final... something that we havent seen from her.. tonight was her last chance folks.. Matt is clearly the best and most taleneted of all the acts left in the show. in boxing terms its in the 12th round and Matt is well ahead on points...the others need a knockout. but the most likely scenario is that Cardle is the one who will knock them out.. if the others had any real chance then ask yourselves why are they priced 11-4 and 9-2. bookmakers arent stupid ... they know he will win.. thats why he's odds on |

I think in terms of narrative, (& hoping that Matt actually get better this week) we have the perfect backdrop for a Matt win. He's no longer the "shoe in" that doesn't need the votes. A back-to -the-usual-standard "Night in White Satin" or a "Hit Me Baby" etc and he's home and hosed IMO.

Theres been 3 songs which Matt has sung where he really raised the bar and blew everybody away, watch them on youtube . He is clearly the best singer in the competition by a mile.Over the course of the competition he has been the standout performer. Of the others only Rebecca comes anywhere near him in terms of quality.

I've been looking at the figures for various things and still don't know I can see Matt winning, Cher 2nd, 1D 3rd imo |

people seem to be forgetting that the public dont decide who wins simply on the basis of 1 performance in the semi final.
Most people have made their minds up already who they want to win and who they will vote for Ultimately last night counts for little in the grand scheme of things its the contestants overall performance over the WHOLE series that matters and not simply how they sung last night |

just watch his other performances on youtube and then tell me he wont win no other act in this years series has shown anything that can possibly beat him. hands down he is streets ahead of an extremely average bunch. every other forum and poll has him miles in front..as i said if you need proof.. watch all his clips. |

Yes I've said for a while now he's just far too good for this lot and in a totally different class. Not much to beat at all. All being well he goes through after last night's problems and gets his voice back for next weekend. Fingers crossed. |

lou.. i would be astounded if he doesnt win
for the simple reason that this year the rest of the field is so poor.. i think even Cowell must acknowledge that matt is the most talented and he really does deserve it for his 3 standout performances. i reckon rebecca is the only real danger the clue is in his clips, the more i watch them , the more certain i am... even in the auditions he was the one who stood out most |

yes I totally agree. Rebecca can sing and comes across very sweet but forget te rest. Matt has shone from his audition and has been a long way clear all the way through. About 4 'wow' moments so far only Cher has had one too. He must win this easily surely. |

Yes no one has a response to the fact that Matt is the one to beat. I'd love to ask them all if they had one jackpot ticket going through to the last leg for a million pound win who would they put that ticket on in the final HONESTLY all books aside? If their life depended on it and they had to pick the winner to save themselves who would they HONESTLY who would they pick all books aside?
It's asking yourself that question that can only come to one conclusion if people are being HONEST. If Matt never got about 80% of the jackpot tickets going on him or 80% of the people choosing him for the life or death situation and everyone was being TOTALLY HONEST I'd be very suprised. That's why at hear most of us are expecting Matt to win and many are just book talking and jealous of the fact they've not backed him enough, even red on him and they can't bare to be HONEST and admit it. |

its as clear as day he will win.. every other poll and forum points to it. the only real danger now is that Cowell has the power to manipulate and fix the final. if One D were half decent id be worried but they are utter dross so no stress really. i might top up on Matt 1st/ rebecca 2nd... thats how this is gonna end |

Yes my forecast bet would be Matt to beat Rebecca. Just think the boyband although nice decent likeable enough lads are very very average. Winners of the X Factor? Surely not. |

Still sitting quite nicely though isn't he? Obviously poorly at the weekend yet still sails nicely through so must be pleased and now only three to beat rivals from the favourites spot when he started out with fifteen rivals. |
