Cheers A1.
Interesting stuff, though i'm not convinced the tools people use to measure sentiment on twitter actually work. I prefer to do it manually. Lou- how many times are you going to say the same thing? I might have to go on the beta forum and find the block function:) |

Lou is officially the most boring person on the x factor forum. He must be bordering on skint and desparate for the cash but upset that Rebecca
is improving so fast. |

What video? |
|
By:
Lou if you look at her last video on the x factor home site, you will see her letting you know why she doesnt move.
|
|
By:
She's probably got piles and an itchy ar*se.
Better to stand still when you're like that. |
|
By:
lol@ that video...what a voice !!

Yes, apart from being very charming, it shows just how good her voice is.
|
|
By:
She obviously knows everyone's asking why she doesn't move though. Bit embarrasing for her isn't it.

Not if she uses Anusol. |

Women who can take the p*ss out of themselves are few and far between. Another reason to like her. Can't imagine Cher doing something similar. Or Matt (I'm a serious artist) Cardle.
|

She's a scouser.
She hasn't got a clue, let alone any cl;ass. |

That'll be a bit like Stacey then [;)]

Serously now all ribbing aside why do you think she doesn't move. It is very strange isn't it specially for a girl. I commented on another thread that say she went to a nightclub with her girlie mates I honestly think she must just stand to the side as I'm sure she just can't dance or else she would surely? Very unusual. What do you think George? |
|
By:
Lou, Matt himself said he doesn't like to move but nobody picked up on that. He was like a fish out of water in his vest witht he dancing girls. He likes to SIT (
) and play his guitar.Rebecca is a good old fashioned torch/blues singer. Old fashioned enough to be modern. She don't need to move foro me just use her hands/arms/eyes more. Be disaster if she is forced to jig around in finals week. |

But at least Matt has moved, moved around, played with the mic', did do a couple of songs interacting with the girls. All not a great deal but he has. Why do you think she doesn't move? Do you think my thoughts about her going out with her mates for a night and not dancing are possibly true? I just can't see how she would join in with the girls and have a dance. With me once that second babycham kicks in I'm there on the floor! |
|
By:
She's shy and self conscious and still lacking in confidence and that makes her diffident re her performance. I just wish I was her mentor/singing coach/motivator and she'd piss this.
her shyness etc also gain her votes from women so not all bad news. |

Yes I agree Lou tho she may be life and soul after a couple of drinks. Even as a wall flower she would be the one hit on by the guys; though most would think she was out of their league..which she probably is.
I think a lot of people will vote for her because they they will applaud themselves for recognising how classy she is. |
|
By:
Ok George
|
|
By:
Why do people think she is classy ?
She is a single mother from Liverpool. What is classy about that ? |
|

The video is hilarious - good on her for having a sense of humour. This won't do her chances of winning any harm at all...
Lou does make some very good points though. As Nick says, it's her awkwardness on stage as much as anything else that makes the audience feel uncomfortable. PERFORMING a song is just an essential part of the business. You don't have to dance around like crazy, but you DO have to show emotion, passion and communicate with the audience. The list that the OP gave included examples of just how you can perform a song without moving much. Aretha is a class case in point. It's not just the standing still - it's the expressionless look on Rebecca's face all of the time. Statuesque she may be - but she always reminds me of a rabbit in the headlights. What surprises me most is that they've obviously not been able to bring out her confidence in 10 weeks of live shows. With all of the so called experts on hand, you'd have thought this was an area they really would have worked on. |
