is it me or are there an increasing number of new faces on the forum this week ramping their hearts out?

bit like the golf forum when there's a major or ryder cup on.

forum has become more farcical as the series has progressed and is almost depressing to read through now.

I've almost lost the will to post on here, because every thread seems to get hijacked and ends up going over the same old ground again.

btw, a couple on C4 programme atm - called Paul and Lou

yep, hard to find the decent, relevant threads squares.

any thoughts on the markets?  any value in the elimination market?  cher 15/8?

heard any song rumours?  DS saying mary doing:
The Way We Were by Barbara Streisand (Gladys Knight version)
Never Can Say Goodbye (Gloria Gaynor version)
Report squares December 1, 2010 5:43 PM GMT
I thought Cher 15/8 or a lay of Mary.

Haven't heard anything other than those two songs.  I've been sticking anything on my "NEXT WEEKEND" thread.

I'm away a lot of tomorrow daytime and all evening so if anyone could stick any snippets on there, it would help me catch up and be much appreciated.

Think those songs were confirmed by LW on the radio as was the stuff about 1 elim, and PV only.
Report GymTanLaundry December 1, 2010 5:47 PM GMT
thanks.  can see a decent mary bounce, particularly in terms of irish vote.

Louis was ramping like mad on Irish radio, and the callers all seemed pretty keen.  Talk of the big homecoming to Dublin if she makes if through too.

Mary Byrne revealed to her fans yesterday that she would be too ill to attend the London premiere of the new Narnia movie last night.

The X Factor semi-finalist told her Facebook fans about her sickness yesterday, posting:

Hello everyone, Mary here. Feeling under the weather today, so won’t be making it down to the Narnia premiere tonight. Looking forward to the weekend though. Thank you everyone for your support x

Hi Guys

Don't let 'Loopy Lou' get to you.

GymTan - agree with what you say. I've never known the Specials Forum dragged down to this level.
Squares - I know you must be really cheesed off when he comes on to your great threads which are full of good stuff. Sorry mate.
FLL - I've previously stated that Loopy Lou must be a complete cre tin to block you.

Keep The Faith

Best Regards

funnily enough, if lou has genuinely blocked who he says he's blocked, he won't actually be able to read any post on this thread so far!

have had a dabble on cher next to go at 15/8.  think mary bounces, and guess that cher support might drop a touch this week, assuming she can't have pimp slot again.

finding the cher ramping threads all a bit odd.  surely they're not all on at pre live show prices?

I agree things have become so bad that I've started looking at potential Eurovision entries already Laugh

I rarely if ever bet before a show. Although viewers have their favourites, I believe the majority respond positively to any act that performs brilliantly and exceeds their expectations. Diversely, if an act performs well below expectations then almost anything can happen.
All things being equal Cher looks vulnerable, but she does just have the capacity to throw in something very good as she did with 'Stay'.

None of the above is much use, but what have been very accurate in guaging weekly performances are Five Leaves Twitter stats.

Cheers lg.
They've proved very good this year.

Cher looks the value to me too.
1D may well get the pimp slot to ensure they make the final.
I still feel Cowell would like a Rebecca win if possible, so a late slot and ramping for her too.
Louis has been ramping Mary over in Ireland today, plus a small B2 bounce should be enough to get her though.
Which leaves Cher the most likely to miss out for me.

I'm on Cher at 15/8 also lads. A freelance journalist friend told me that the Irish Star are somehow getting the numbers to call for Irish voters from TV3 and are going to have it on the front page next Sat/Sun, urging the country to get behind her.

The Irish Sun/Mirror are fully behind her.

Last weekend Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show, with it's peak viewing figures for the Toy Show of 1.74m last year (dunno this year) had Joe McElderry on and there was a huge ramp afterwards for Mary. Big audience cheers etc when he said he liked Mary... and also Rebecca. On Sun night he FB'd "Go on Mary! Yessss!" when she got through.
This megaramp didn't do her a whole lot of good last weekend, mind.

She was also the topic of conversation last Sat night Brendan O'Connor's prime time chat show. Again, this didn't do her much good last weekend.

I think the fact that she was in the sing off last week, perceived to be in trouble and that it's a 4 act final will really spur on the Irish public to vote for her (despite her Dub background) to get there. That's a phenomenal result for her! She'll get a hero's welcome no matter what happens from here. Unlike that little 1D pr1ck wearing an English jersey when meeting the English football team - no offense intended lads! Grin

Shame it's such a bloody big deal in order to vote here. I can't see why TV3 can't just put the Irish numbers in place of the UK numbers, or even at the end of the show.

In fairness to Louis, he's fought a tough battle for her to secure a vote and stood firmly behind her V Wagner. I imagine that support in the Irish media will intensify over the next few days. I'm sure he'd love an act in the final too!

I had a look at the figures at this stage last year:
Joe 37.1%
Olly 18.7%
Stacey 20.1%
Danyl 12.5%
Lloyd 11.6% Anybody know what the total votes counted were?

I genuinely think she'll get one helluva bounce!

Go on Mary, ya good ting!!! [smiley:crazy]

Wow a thread with no abuse and some decent opinions, can I add to the consensus that Mary is a terrific lay for this weeks first elimination, tptb showed the week when Cher was in the bottom 2 that she was dispensible and would have gone if a chosen act was in trouble, Marys bounce will be bigger than all the other 4 semi finalists as she has the vital regional vote a big big lay for me.
Report George Bailey December 1, 2010 11:18 PM GMT
That 2009 poll is almost identical to current position except Lloyd = Mary has about 6% less than Lloyd did.

Joe went on to p*ss it.  Why shouldn't Matt do this time?
Report bardo December 1, 2010 11:54 PM GMT
simon and cherly will ramp cher to bits...  i think  Mary doesnt have much support outside Ireland.

Cher has the teenage vote split with 1D

George

I think he will.  He's so far ahead in the polls we see, been favourite from day 1 and is well clear of the field in the betting.  4/5 Fav with 4/1 and 9/2 bar.  I think he's at least a class above the rest of them and has the capability as he's shown at least three times this series he has the 'wow' factor performance.

Mary on front pages of all three Irish Sun/Mirror and Star today.
Star caption: Mary's Budget Party! (in reference to our upcoming budget) Cry
Mirror caption: Yes She Can!
Sorry lads, can't remember the Sun headline.
The Star carries a story of how Mary will lift the gloom of next Tuesday's budget with a huge celebration homecoming if she gets through this weekend.
The Mirror has a list of Irish celebs and who they want to win as follows:
Shane Ward!?! (must be his relations) - Cher. Just kidding! He went for Matt/Rebecca
Ryan Tubridy (Late Late and 2fm anchor): Mary
Jennifer Maguire (UK Apprentice): 1D
Shane Filan: 1D
Brian Dowling: Matt
Nicky Byrne: Mary
Nadine Coyle: Mary
2 nobody models/promo stand girls (Pippa O'Connor: Matt/Rebecca and Glenda Gilson: Matt/Mary)
Jedward: Mary
Mikey Graham: Mary

Nothing in the The Times or Indo.

I've got a student who's an XF maniac to text me if she hears anything noteworthy on radio/tv...

good to see some Irish 'celebs' not voting for Mary
Report NXRBL December 2, 2010 12:21 PM GMT
Mikeeey I'd also use the title 'celebs' in the loosest possible way.
The fact I feel the need to explain who they are/what their 'celebrity' purpose is, speaks volumes.
I even omitted a couple of other absolute starspangled Grade A plebs from the list!

I hate that Michael Flatley.

He always makes such a song and dance about everything.
