They've never made anything of it on the show - yet. |

Alexandra Burke says:
Alexandra Burke thinks One Direction will win The X Factor later this month. The ‘Broken Heels’ singer – who won the show two years ago – claims that Simon Cowell will do everything he can to get his boyband into the final, even if it means voting for the five piece himself. She told X Magazine: I love One Direction. They’ll get to the finals at least. Simon won’t go to the finals without an act. Forget that. He won’t. Simon will vote for them himself! I like Rebecca too. She seems like such a nice girl. But I reckon One Direction will win. I’m rooting for the boys. I’m backing Si. |

XF Updates have the theme as CLUB CLASSICS

Club Classics seems like a good theme but I tend to think if SCowell is choosing the songs, it'll be the cheesy drivel from the 70's

Theme = Club Classics and A Song To Get You To The Final
|
|
By:
Despite previous reports that this week the contestants would be singing Madonna tracks, the theme for this week’s Semi Final has been confirmed as “Club Classics”. The change in theme has come late in the week, throwing all of the contestants into panic as they try and find new songs to sing.
The remaining finalists will again each sing two songs – one “Club Classic” and another song of any genre to help them get into the final. Mary was pleased with the change of theme, as it allowed to sing one of her personal favourite tracks. The Irish hopeful said: “This song I’ve been waiting the whole series to sing, it’s a very beautiful song that has beautiful lyrics. I know I’ll cry because I cried when I heard I was going to be able to sing it. It was my mother’s song and I hope she hears it wherever she is.” Meanwhile vocal coach Yvie Burnett revealed the pressure the contestants were under with the theme change. “This is the most important song choice so far,” she said. “We’ve got absolutely everything in the semi final this year, we’ve got every single act you want. Everybody’s getting really stroppy and grumpy, no one can decide on their songs!” “This week is going to be crucial.” Savan Kotecha added: “The competition is heating up!” |

From the limited info it does seem there might be a push to get Mary to the final. If she sings well she could make it quite comfortably I think.
All quiet on the Cher front this week - she was notably absent on the F Factor previews. |

By:
Two terriffic songs for Mary there George. She could make the final with them. Can't deny she'll sing them well. Good luck to her.

Matt Cardle reportedly missed out on performing at an intimate gig with the other X Factor semi-finalists due to illness.
The five remaining acts were all due to sing at the Talk Talk gig in London last night. However, Metro reports that Cardle was banned from taking the stage in order to preserve his voice for this weekends live shows. Hoping that the illness lifts, Cardle is said to have told guests: "I've got my fingers crossed." The paper added that One Direction were also a member short due to Zain Maliks absence for 'personal problems'. |

Cher Lloyd reportedly "threw a strop" just before the X Factor contestants attended the premiere of The Chronicles of Naria: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader.
The remaining finalists were due to attend the royal premiere earlier this week, but both Lloyd and Mary Byrne pulled out. "Neither Mary Byrne or Cher made it on the night - but Mary has arthritis so it would have been impossible for her to attend in the snow because her knees have been hurting," a source told 3am. "Cher was all scheduled to go but threw a massive strop at the last minute. "It seemed like nothing triggered it but she was obviously concerned ahead of the weekend. Her moods can be up and down as we have already seen several times and she is still paranoid she is going home and her dream will be over." The source added: "Everyone was set to go - but it was a royal premiere so there was no time to spare. They had to just go without her and she sat in her room in the dark crying her eyes out.” Lloyd has admitted that her behaviour does sometimes embarrass her but claimed that she is "still learning". |

It’s the penultimate week on the 2010 X Factor series and a few of the song choice for Saturday’s semi final have already been revealed.
There will be two themes on the show, one of which will be club classics the other, as revealed by Liam Payne on the F Factor, will be “any song that can get you through to the final.” Louis Walsh has already revealed that this weekend, only one person will be eliminated, meaning that four contestants will compete in the final show. The four judges have lost all their powers and from now on will have no say in who goes and who stays. On Sunday night, the unlucky hopeful who misses out on the chance of singing with a big celebrity guest on the final, will be chosen purely based upon the public votes. We will update Saturday’s songlist below as the choices come in. Mary Byrne: Never Can Say Goodbye (Gloria Gaynor version) and ‘The Way We Were’ (Gladys Knight version) She said: “This song I’ve been waiting the whole series to do. It’s a very beautiful song with some beautiful lyrics. I just know I’ll cry because I cried when I heard I was singing it. It’s my mother’s song, she always asked me to sing it and I hope that she hears it wherever she is. The nerves will turn to adrenalin and the adrenalin will turn to my heart and make me sing it.” On Saturday’s upcoming show and the songs the judges have chosen for them, Matt, Rebecca and One Direction added: Matt: “A song that’s really going to make me look good. I’m just amazed that I’m still in.” Rebecca: “It’s just one of those songs that everyone knows and loves. I’m excited and I’m proud.” One Direction: “It’s going to be the biggest moment of ours on the show.” |

X Factor's Matt Cardle has admitted that he is sad that Wagner Carrilho has been eliminated from the competition.
Cardle made the claim despite previously criticising the 54-year-old and blasting his success on the show. "I meant what I said before," The Sun quotes the 27-year-old as saying. "But I'm sad he's gone. He was having a great time. And he'll be having a great time now, I'm sure." He added: "I wish him all the best." Cardle missed a performance earlier this week due to being ill. |

Matt likes standing still . . .
Matt Cardle has admitted that he has reservations about performing uptempo tracks on The X Factor. The ex-painter and decorator confessed that he felt uncomfortable with creative director Brian Friedman's choreography in the more extravagant performance numbers. Speaking in his latest official video blog, he said: "The first performance last week wasn't really me. I enjoyed it, but I don't know how much more running around I'm going to do. I just didn't feel too comfortable doing it." He continued: "The theme could be really cool this week. It's two songs again. So it's going to be exciting. It's going to be even more uptempo. Everyone is going to try and have a bit of fun with it. I will try and not let Brian run me around the stage again. "It just didn't feel right. Ah, that's a lie - it felt alright. I just like standing still... and playing guitar." |

X Factor's Rebecca Ferguson has teased her song choices for this week's semi-final.
The mother-of-two claimed that one of the tracks would get everyone dancing and that the other is a classic "laidback" hit. "This weekend, I'm going to put my heart and soul into it and I'm hoping you will all back me," she said in her latest video blog. "I hope you liked 'Satisfaction' [last weekend] because I was trying to mix it up a bit. I am going to try and go on doing things like that, but at the same time, I don't want to lose who I am. I am an understated singer." She continued: "This week's theme, I'm really excited about. Especially if I get to do the song that I want to do. Because it is fun and I mean... you will be getting out of your seats and dancing along with me because it is fun. "The other song is lovely. A nice laidback lovely song that everybody knows. I don't know anyone who doesn't know it." |

Just 4 members in OD tomoz?
Mary Byrne and Matt Cardle are reportedly in danger of missing the X Factor semi-final because of vocal problems. In previous series acts such as Diana Vickers have been given byes after falling ill during the competition, but it has never happened at such a late stage in the TV talent show. Cardle's illness is so bad that he was forced to miss out on a planned TalkTalk secret gig earlier this week, where the five remaining acts did a short Q&A with fans. Byrne did perform at the London show but has apparently since lost her voice. A source told the Daily Star: "Matt is putting a brave face on things but his voice is in bad shape and he could miss the semi-final. He's really low because he's desperate to be at his best for such a vital show. Mary and Matt have both been struggling with their throats for the past week. "Matt was advised to rest his voice by doctors and so didn't perform. Mary did sing but complained of a bad throat afterwards. At the moment we're hoping they will be fit to appear but we just don't know. It will be a disaster if they have to pull out." Meanwhile, One Direction may be without Zain Malik on tomorrow's show, because the singer has returned to Bradford due to a "family health matter". |

X Factor's Cher Lloyd is reportedly being monitored by a 24-hour therapist.
The 17-year-old singer reportedly failed to attend the royal premiere of the new Chronicles of Narnia film after 'throwing a strop' and has also admitted that she was "disgusted" by boos from the audience. "Cher is struggling again," a source told The Mirror. "She keeps threatening to quit the show, saying if it wasn't for her contract she'd be out. "The therapist has her own room in the house and is on call 24/7. It's hoped that Cher can be calmed down in time for Saturday's live show." The insider added: "She's had a series of strops and rants and has been a bit of a nightmare. The patience of some staff has finally run out." An X Factor spokesman said: "The welfare team ensures that all of the contestants get any support they need." |
