This says only one going on Sunday so four for the final Saturday??

The cast of hit US show Glee, world famous group the Black Eyed Peas and former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke will all be performing on this weekend’s show, it has been confirmed. This week the 5 semi-finalists will once again face having to learn two songs – at least one of which must be by US diva Madonna!

The remaining contestants will be singing the 52-year-old’s hit songs as they all fight for a place in The X Factor 2010 final show.

On the Sunday another act will leave – resulting in FOUR acts going through to this year’s final, which is expected to be the biggest ever with more than 20 million viewers tuning in.

The Sunday results show will also see the cast of Glee join forces with this year’s finalists for what promises to be the group performance of the series. Meanwhile former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke returns to the stage for the third year in the row to perform her new track, ‘The Silence’ from the re-release of her debut album Overcome.

Finally the Black Eyed Peas plan a charged performance for their new song
‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’.

It’s the penultimate week on the 2010 X Factor  series and a few of the song choice for Saturday’s semi final have already been revealed.

There will be two themes on the show, one of which will be club classics the other, as revealed by Liam Payne on the F Factor, will be “any song that can get you through to the final.”

Louis Walsh has already revealed that this weekend, only one person will be eliminated, meaning that four contestants will compete in the final show.

The four judges have lost all their powers and from now on will have no say in who goes and who stays. On Sunday night, the unlucky hopeful who misses out on the chance of singing with a big celebrity guest on the final, will be chosen purely based upon the public votes.

We will update Saturday’s songlist below as the choices come in.

Mary Byrne: Never Can Say Goodbye (Gloria Gaynor version) and ‘The Way We Were’ (Gladys Knight version)

She said: “This song I’ve been waiting the whole series to do. It’s a very beautiful song with some beautiful lyrics. I just know I’ll cry because I cried when I heard I was singing it. It’s my mother’s song, she always asked me to sing it and I hope that she hears it wherever she is. The nerves will turn to adrenalin and the adrenalin will turn to my heart and make me sing it.”

On Saturday’s upcoming show and the songs the judges have chosen for them, Matt, Rebecca and One Direction added:

Matt: “A song that’s really going to make me look good. I’m just amazed that I’m still in.”

Rebecca: “It’s just one of those songs that everyone knows and loves. I’m excited and I’m proud.”

One Direction: “It’s going to be the biggest moment of ours on the show.”

X Factor's Matt Cardle has admitted that he is sad that Wagner Carrilho has been eliminated from the competition.

Cardle made the claim despite previously criticising the 54-year-old and blasting his success on the show.

"I meant what I said before," The Sun quotes the 27-year-old as saying. "But I'm sad he's gone. He was having a great time. And he'll be having a great time now, I'm sure."

He added: "I wish him all the best."

Cardle missed a performance earlier this week due to being ill.

Matt likes standing still . . .

Matt Cardle has admitted that he has reservations about performing uptempo tracks on The X Factor.

The ex-painter and decorator confessed that he felt uncomfortable with creative director Brian Friedman's choreography in the more extravagant performance numbers.

Speaking in his latest official video blog, he said: "The first performance last week wasn't really me. I enjoyed it, but I don't know how much more running around I'm going to do. I just didn't feel too comfortable doing it."

He continued: "The theme could be really cool this week. It's two songs again. So it's going to be exciting. It's going to be even more uptempo. Everyone is going to try and have a bit of fun with it. I will try and not let Brian run me around the stage again.

"It just didn't feel right. Ah, that's a lie - it felt alright. I just like standing still... and playing guitar."

X Factor's Rebecca Ferguson has teased her song choices for this week's semi-final.

The mother-of-two claimed that one of the tracks would get everyone dancing and that the other is a classic "laidback" hit.

"This weekend, I'm going to put my heart and soul into it and I'm hoping you will all back me," she said in her latest video blog.

"I hope you liked 'Satisfaction' [last weekend] because I was trying to mix it up a bit. I am going to try and go on doing things like that, but at the same time, I don't want to lose who I am. I am an understated singer."

She continued: "This week's theme, I'm really excited about. Especially if I get to do the song that I want to do. Because it is fun and I mean... you will be getting out of your seats and dancing along with me because it is fun.

"The other song is lovely. A nice laidback lovely song that everybody knows. I don't know anyone who doesn't know it."

Mary Byrne and Matt Cardle are reportedly in danger of missing the X Factor semi-final because of vocal problems.

In previous series acts such as Diana Vickers have been given byes after falling ill during the competition, but it has never happened at such a late stage in the TV talent show.

Cardle's illness is so bad that he was forced to miss out on a planned TalkTalk secret gig earlier this week, where the five remaining acts did a short Q&A with fans.

Byrne did perform at the London show but has apparently since lost her voice.

A source told the Daily Star: "Matt is putting a brave face on things but his voice is in bad shape and he could miss the semi-final. He's really low because he's desperate to be at his best for such a vital show. Mary and Matt have both been struggling with their throats for the past week.

"Matt was advised to rest his voice by doctors and so didn't perform. Mary did sing but complained of a bad throat afterwards. At the moment we're hoping they will be fit to appear but we just don't know. It will be a disaster if they have to pull out."

Meanwhile, One Direction may be without Zain Malik on tomorrow's show, because the singer has returned to Bradford due to a "family health matter".
Report squares December 3, 2010 11:30 AM GMT
X Factor's Cher Lloyd is reportedly being monitored by a 24-hour therapist.

The 17-year-old singer reportedly failed to attend the royal premiere of the new Chronicles of Narnia film after 'throwing a strop' and has also admitted that she was "disgusted" by boos from the audience.

"Cher is struggling again," a source told The Mirror. "She keeps threatening to quit the show, saying if it wasn't for her contract she'd be out.

"The therapist has her own room in the house and is on call 24/7. It's hoped that Cher can be calmed down in time for Saturday's live show."

The insider added: "She's had a series of strops and rants and has been a bit of a nightmare. The patience of some staff has finally run out."

An X Factor spokesman said: "The welfare team ensures that all of the contestants get any support they need."

even dimwits at HeatWorld noticed Eoghan was nobbled:

As we all know, the X Factor final is fast approaching, which means so are the infamous ‘contestant-star’ duets (or not so much ‘star’ for some contestants....remember when Eggnog Quigg got shafted with Boyzone and Alexandra Burke got Beyonce?).

That was awkward. Although the Beyonce/Burke duet is possibly the best X Factor moment ever.

This years batch of wannabees have been quick to put in their bids of who they’d like to duet with.

Rebecca has gone big declaring “It would be my dream to sing with Whitney Houston or Aretha Franklin - but also Kings of Leon.”

We think a Rebecca/Whitney duet would be genius, but not so much Rebecca/Kings of Leon. How about Matt/Kings of Leon?

Cher Lloyd has, not surprisingly, declared she’d love to duet with Nicki Minaj. We think this would actually work. Cher would undoubtedly go overboard with her rapping (and gurning) but it would definitely be a performance worth watching.

Matt Cardle has rather surprisingly opted with Katy Perry.

And rather unsurprisingly, One Direction have picked Take That, which is not beyond the realms of possibility........can you imagine the levels of screaming in the studio if that were the case? Dermot would surely go deaf during the time is takes to sing Never Forget.

Mary Byrne has opted for either Tom Jones or Shirley Bassey - both stellar choices for Mary we think. A Byrne/Bassey duet would be monster.

This of course is by no means who they will actually duet with, but rest assured ITV will bring out the big guns (at least they ruddy well better).

in bed with flu surrounded by a team of doctors Laugh

SINGER Matt Cardle was at an all-time low last night after being dumped by his girlfriend in a one-sided screaming match.

Show stylist Grace Woodward yelled "it's over" - and Matt couldn't argue as he's been silenced by laryngitis.

Grace flipped after catching the 27-year-old crooner flirting with backing dancers on stage.

An X Factor source said: "She yelled at him it was over and he tried to talk her round - but it's not easy with laryngitis."

Health woes left the entire show in chaos last night as Simon Cowell and two other stars had to skip rehearsals through illness.

Show guru Simon was in bed with flu, surrounded by a team of doctors.

He was due to mentor his final act, boyband One Direction.

They were down a member after Zain Malik was called away due to a family illness. And Mary Byrne, 50, was also off with flu

A show source said: "This is the last thing the show needs. Simon is absolutely shattered with the flu and is worried he might have to miss the live shows."

Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson are the two other acts battling for a place in next week's final.

The source added: "After losing his voice Matt's feeling the pressure like never before. He's absolutely terrified."

the problem for the club classic choice for Rebecca is the tempo.

not so much the comfort zone but the fact that it favours the singers who are the more confident performers
on the live show.

but then again it's a 2 song night,so they all get the chance to pull it back.

'X Factor' winner 'to rush release album'

The winner of this year's X Factor will release their album as soon as possible, according to reports.

The Sun claims that Simon Cowell has pushed the release date forward to avoid the lacklustre sales experienced by last year's winner Joe McElderry, who failed to reach number one in the UK album chart with Wide Awake.

Traditionally, winners such as Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke have spent a year working on their debut LP, before returning to launch it on the show the following year.

A source told the paper: "Joe was virtually forgotten by the time he was launched this year."
Report squares December 4, 2010 11:29 AM GMT
will be funny if he has a sob story VT about his illness tonight:

X Factor favourite Matt Cardle has laid into contestants who burst into tears to manipulate voters.

In a thinly-veiled pop at Cher and One Direction, the outspoken 27-year-old said: “I’m not going to cry for votes. That’s not what I’m about.

“Some people say, ‘I’ve wanted it all my life’. You’re 16 years old. You’ve wanted it for a couple of years since you figured you could sing. Try hammering away at it for 12 years.”

He also called past X Factors “plastic and naff” for producing winners that did not have their own image and were moulded.

Poking fun at last year’s winner Joe McElderry, he added: “Bless Joe, he’s done so well, but I don’t think he’s seen like Paolo Nutini or James Morrison and that seems like it’s because he was on TV.

“But the way the music industry is at the moment you need a platform like the X Factor. It’s so hard, people go so unnoticed.”

Matt also hinted he felt that winning was his only way to make it to make it in the music biz.

one d will be much more effective without zain mistiming every note and standing there with a big turd in his pants

show me love would be a v ambitious choice, it is a club classic, but it's v v different from anything she has done before, and will definitely require a bit of movement

always a woman is a beautiful song and if it is matt's he's in real luck

if matt had such bad larygitisi he could barely sing, he would sail through on a sympathy vote. the same could be said for mary, but she wants to be able to sing, as the way we were could bring the house to tears and get her through. amazing heartbreaking song

are the x factor judges trying to open up this comp by prompting matt to keep opening his mouth. cant the guy realise he just needs to shut up and sing and he has won. interesting conspiracy theories must surround this case of cantkeepmymouthshutitis

the x factor security is quite impressive, the day before and we dont know the tunes....

Had to do a double take when I read Show Me Love for Rebecca. This is an absolute club anthem, never mind classic. Plus it's VERY current if you consider the Laidback Luke/Steve Angello remix about two years back.Every kid in the U.K. will know this one. A real boppy bouncy tune. How it transfers to XFactor, don't ask me!?!?!

I can't imagine it being up her street, but no way she'd take it on unless she was comfy with it. Could be her favourite song of this genre and she might just smash it.

Her song choices seem almost experimental, though hardly at this stage of a competition. I've a sneaking suspicion that Rebecca is gonna blow us away tonight. *fingers crossed* [;)]

nick, I guess the main problem with leaking Matt's tunes is the fact that he's reportedly been unable to sing, as it appears most of the leaks come from rehearsals, etc.

On TM, vocal coach Yvie Burnett was asked about the schedule.

She said the vocal coaches have 1 to 1 1/2 hours with the contestants on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Then they have rehearsals with 3 run throughs for sound checks, etc. on Fridays and Saturdays.

She seemed to think that Matt's throat wasn't great last weekend and that he probably made things worse with last weekend's performances and had been advised to rest his voice this week.  He didn't sing at the secret gig and has missed rehearsals, although she didn't seem to think there would be a problem with him performing tonight.  I imagine he'll be singing stuff he's very familiar with due to lack of rehearsal time.
