at least it doesn't look like they're singing two Madonna songs.
Mary doing Hanky Panky and Justify My Love wearing basque and stockings would be too much to bear. |

Rebecca Ferguson has said she wants upbeat songs and dancers
for this weekend’s show, following criticism from both the judges and viewers that the 24-year-old is like a ‘singing candle’. The single mum of two launched what appeared to be attack on her mentor Cheryl Cole last night, saying she did what she was told. Writing on social networking website Twitter after surviving last night’s eighth results show, Rebecca said: “This week I want what I’ve been asking for upbeat modern songs and dancers [sic]“. She added, appearing to respond to criticism about her lack of movement on stage: “I do what I’m told”. |

Mirror turned to Matt now Wagner is gone!
It seems with Wagner now gone Matt Cardle has another target in his sights, this time lashing out at Cher Lloyd following a backstage clash. According to The Mirror, Matt branded 17-year-old Cher “a d**k” after she didn’t want to wear the wacky clothes given to her by stylist Grace Woodward. With Grace’s past creations for the contestants including Katie’s helmet in Week 1 and Matt’s strange vest outfit, we’re thinking Cher was probably right to ignore Grace’s advice. A production source said: “Cher insists that she has almost total control over her outfits and basically told Grace so in a really brash manner. “Some of the crew couldn’t really believe how she spoke to her – and when word filtered back to Matt he was livid. He really cares for Grace and it was hurtful to hear about her being dissed in such a way. “He loudly called Cher a d* * * in earshot and has been telling everyone he’s not happy with her.” |

Singing candle? At least a candle has a bit of unpredictable movement now and then.
I was hoping the paps would be a bit balanced and not go after Cher too much this week. With Wagner and Katie gone though, there's nothing left for the tabloids to actually write about except Matt, Cher and Matt-vs-Cher as the rest of the lineup are such personaity voids. |

4 in final suits me

Hopefully 'the candle' will have blown out by the last 4 George.

Madonna good for Matt anything girly that he gets to warble like a eunuch on seems to go down well.
Mind you its a million hits for Matt this week (I predict) and no warbling. |

X Factor boyband One Direction are guaranteed a record deal - even if they don't win the show, a report claims.
According to The Sun, Simon Cowell has already called in producers and songwriters to begin working on material for them. "It's a done deal," a source told the paper. "Writers and producers connected with his Syco label have already been asked to pitch tracks for the group." The music mogul is also said to want the five boys to be edgier than they appear on the ITV show. "Although they're young he doesn't want them to be squeaky clean," the insider said. "He knows they will connect better by being edgy, like JLS or even East 17." |

no surprise there squares, think he can do that even if they come 4th or 5th

All he need for them is exposure and winning doesnt guarantee them that much more really |

X FACTOR star Rebecca Ferguson has said her voice is already in demand with stars like Amy Winehouse queuing up to work with her.
The singer from Liverpool revealed she had heard rumours that the Back To Black singer wanted to pen a song for her. The 24-year-old explained she'd also received a letter from Chasing Pavements singer Adele Adkins. Mum-of-two Rebecca said: "Adele actually wrote me a letter. It was such a surprise and I felt very privileged. "I'm a big fan of her music and it's a good feeling to have such a talented person say they like my voice." The X Factor contestant added: "Paloma Faith has said she would be interested in working with me. I also heard a rumour that Amy Winehouse would like to write a song for me. "They are both such amazing artists, I feel really flattered." The young star even has Kylie rooting for her, despite the fact her sister Dannii is mentoring the boys category this year. The Australian pop star said: "Obviously I'm Team Minogue, but I have to say, Rebecca really stands out this year as one of my favourites." And Rebecca was singled out for praise from ****cat Doll Nicole Scherzinger following her performance of Poison on Sunday night's show. The former guest judge said: "I've always believed in her. Her voice is just timeless." |

Friedman article still suggests uncertainty regards how many progress this weekend?? Last paragraph.
The X Factor’s creative director Brian Friedman has revealed how he feels a weight has been lifted off of his shoulders following Wagner’s exit from the show on Sunday. Brian told the Press Association yesterday how while he liked the 54-year-old Brazilian as a person, as a singer he had no talent. Brian said: “He is not a great singer and he doesn’t do well with staging, so it always came down to me and I really felt the pressure to make it amazing. “It is definitely a weight off my shoulders. He was like a big grey elephant in the room. But I had no issues with him other than he has no talent.” He went on: “I am proud of the work I did with him, it was always spectacular. There were a couple of weeks where strange things happened on stage that I had no control over. Typical Louis wanted dancing skeletons and cats in Halloween week when I wanted something much cooler.” Brian also said that he didn’t think Cher Lloyd would make the final, explaining: “She is not the warmest of them all and every show she gets booed. “If only three go through next week I see it being Matt, Rebecca and One Direction. It would be really amazing to show a group could do it.” |
|
By:
Interesting indeed squares.
It does look like they are holding back that decision till as late as possible. If it's only announced significantly after the voting starts that speaks volumes about Cowell's intentions to me. On a sidenote, should Friedman as such a central figure on the show be making such weighted comments about the finalists he favours and dislikes? |
|
By:
Do we think that now they open the lines during the show - the first half an hours voting provides an accurate guide to the final result on Sunday?
|
|
By:
Aaparagus
I think half an hour's a bit tight but possibly once they've all sang and mybe an hour after that would probably be quite close I'd guess. I'm jusy going on if 2000 people in the first 10000 voted for Cher say then perhaps roughly it would be the same for the next 10000. Very rough guide though I would think. |

Look if rebbecca is so amazing why do we need so much convincing. Actually I heard the archangel Gabriel wants to blow his horn on the Next Rebecca record and God is cancelling the celestrial choirs. Quoteth "Not as good as Rebbecca" spaketh the lord.
If Rebbecca voice is so good why do we have to be so brow beaten about it. Why do we have to take the word of all these amazing artists. Why can't jsut hear it. I'll tell you why. Rebecca is marmite. Though no "Judge" will allowed to say it. I think Simon would love a 1 direction win. 4 lads that owe everything thing to him. A group that he designed himself like God. Cowell exctasy. Hopefully enough of the GBP will see through all that and vote for Matt. And thats want he wants rebbecca for. To split the anti cowell vote. |
