Apparently true according to this from the Observer:

The audience has not only expanded in quantity but in social base, too. Whereas previously, it was always assumed that the X Factor, and shows like it, primarily appealed to teenage girls voting for a new celebrity heartthrob, a major new piece of research seen exclusively by the Observer shows that the programme is increasingly crossing social, class and gender divides. According to the survey of 3,514 people conducted by the research and strategy agency Brand Driver, it is actually male viewers who are more likely to vote – with 20% of men aged 18-34 voting multiple times for the same contestant.

Talking about the Brighton nightclub vote:

Shocked

X Factor star Lloyd Daniels has compared his upcoming debut album to Lady GaGa and Beyoncé - because it is so eclectic.

Daniels, who finished fifth on last year's series of the ITV1 talent show, is currently "working really hard" on the record, which he insisted is "not at all" like his X Factor performances.

"We've gone for lots of completely different genres because we didn't want to keep it too much the same," he told Digital Spy at a recent photo shoot for Gay Times's Naked Issue. "I think you could compare it to people like Beyoncé and GaGa because they don't make albums where every track sounds the same."

When asked when fans could expect to hear his music, Daniels revealed that he is planning to release his debut single in February, although he was unable to confirm when the full album will be available.

Daniels also revealed that Cher Lloyd is his favourite contestant on this year's X Factor, describing the 17-year-old as "just brilliant", but predicted that One Direction are likely to win the contest.

"They've got great voices the five of them and they're good-looking boys. I think they've got a great fanbase so they're going to do very, very well," he explained.

Its probably true that in the 18-34 demo there isnt that much difference between the number of women and men voting.

Its the under 16 and over 40 demo's that probably have an overwhelming majority of women voting.

Squares,

Disappointed you missed off the end of the article

Daniels also confirmed that the internal anal injuries inflicted upon him by Danyl Johnson during the last series of X Factor had finally healed.  Lloyd said 'For the first 6 months after last years competition every pooh I did felt like I was giving birth but at least now I can defacate without squealing'

On a more serious note Laugh

The you gov poll had wagners vote 4 x 1 males so maybe the Observer are on to something. I suspect men "get" the Wagner thing by a 4 x 1 factor over women...immature, naughty schoolboys giggling in class... Wagner appeals methinks precisely to the 18-34 male demographic.

GB2,

I think you'll find Lloyd thought his internal stitches were very serious indeed! Plain
