Even if it's perhaps better than most think surely it's it's hardly the best they could give him? A bit of a slow, dreary dirge with lyrics that make no sense. Of all The Beatles vast catalogue ................... that's the best they could pick for him? |

Rebecca will absolutely NAIL Yesterday....espcially the Why she Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say bridge...this will be special! Matt lol that's an awful song up there with Hey Jude as stitch up songs. Cher is the only contender to Rebecca for me worth backing her again with that song...it'll be rubbish but ramped by the judges |

Rarely have such self-confessed anti-political 'gobbledygook' lyrics been so dissected, interpreted, talked about, and, in the end, accepted as part of the music world's consciousness as those in 'Come Together'. And anyway, the line "one thing I can tell you is you got to be free" impacts that much more amidst all the 'nonsense'. Also, it's a kickin' tune  |

there are different interpretations of the lyrics.
one view is that each verse refers to a different member of the band, which is quite interesting. "here come old flattop, he come grooving up slowly...." - GEORGE "he wear no shoeshine, he got toe-jam football...." - RINGO "he bag production, he got walrus gumboot, he got ono sideboard...." - JOHN "he roller-coaster, he got early warning...." - PAUL if you take the lyrics at face value, and don't read anything too deep into them, then of course they make absolutely no sense whatsoever. which for a saturday night mass-audience entertainment show, probably doesn't make it an ideal song. still a decent funky tune though! |

The greatest ever for me. So many wonderful songs. Youngsters from 14 to 90 seem to know all the words and sing along to all their songs. Just brilliant. |

Katie .....help Does not matter what she sings, she is bottom 2 material again. Although I thought her 'Don't Let Me Down' was rather good. Matt.... come together Slow, dull, dirge of a song. Olly Murs sang this didn't he?? Will drift for sure after this. Rebecca......yesterday Not sure about this. Could go either way. She should sings it acapella to make it stand out. Paije.....let it be Visualising him singing this with a big happy cheesy smile. Just does not suit him. Mary......Something She has the best song of the night, imho. However Mary will destroy it if she bellows it out with no emotions. One direction....All you need is love This is going to be a bit car crashy. Extraordinary how most say Come Together is dull. It's a classic. Io reduce subjectivity look how others found it - it was a chart No 1 mega seller, Rolling Stone magazine had it as No 9 on their list of The Beatles' 100 Greatest Songs, and Michael Jackson chose to cover it.
Matt also has a choice of singing it moody or upbeat, not many songs give that choice. It also suits his style. Rebecca has a tougher job because Yesterday, like last week's Candle, is much more iconic than Come Together, it's many peoples favourite and many people have fixed ideas about it. On past record she'll pull it off though. (I don't think XF would want her to sing it a capella, nor would I as a backer). |
