Even if it's perhaps better than most think surely it's it's hardly the best they could give him? A bit of a slow, dreary dirge with lyrics that make no sense. Of all The Beatles vast catalogue ................... that's the best they could pick for him? |

Who knows but not an ideal choice I don't think. |

Lyrics that make no sense Lou

Wow are these confirmed?
Rebecca will absolutely NAIL Yesterday....espcially the Why she Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say bridge...this will be special! Matt lol that's an awful song up there with Hey Jude as stitch up songs. Cher is the only contender to Rebecca for me worth backing her again with that song...it'll be rubbish but ramped by the judges |
By:
Come Together is great for Matt.
By:
it's not an emotinal song tho, funky but never going to bring the place down whoever is singing it....help would have been ok for him
By:
Come Together would have been more suited to Cher imo
By:
I am begging to doubt Matt is doing come together his price is coming in. I am not bovverd I had to aly some of my tens off at some time.
Fortunatley rebbecca is also coming in. Is there any bad news re 1D. Help is bad for them. Why's that if Simon wants them so bad. |

I love The Beatles but this is nonsense surely? He wear no shoeshine he got toe-jam football He got monkey finger he shoot coca-cola He say "I know you, you know me" One thing I can tell you is you got to be free Come together right now over me He bag production he got walrus gumboot He got Ono sideboard he one spinal cracker He got feet down below his knee Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease Come together right now over me |
By:
Lou its not as good as that[;)] seriously you maybe thinking about Olly last year, but to be fair Matt is a far better singer, Olly was more of a performer if that helps any
By:
Yes Matt far better singer but awful song isn't it? Look at them lyrics ...... pure gobbledygook.
By:
you never know it may just suit him on the night, Rebecca is in the same boat singing songs that are really not up her street, never mind we could have a new fav after Saturday...Paije
By:
Mary and Paije got killer songs I think. Yesterday not brilliant but Come Together!!
By:
'Come Together' is an truly amazing song
....... but back in XFactor world: probably not so good for Matt, no |
By:
deejay
Not for me. Like I said look at the lyrics i posted below. Pure gobbledygook. |
By:
Lou
Rarely have such self-confessed anti-political 'gobbledygook' lyrics been so dissected, interpreted, talked about, and, in the end, accepted as part of the music world's consciousness as those in 'Come Together'. And anyway, the line "one thing I can tell you is you got to be free" impacts that much more amidst all the 'nonsense'. Also, it's a kickin' tune ![]() |
By:
So what does it actually mean then? Apart from the obvious (lewd) interpretation of the last line, I haven't got a clue!

don't think anyone does really |
By:

Exactly. Deejay's just highlighting the last few words. What about the other 90% of nonsense? Decent enough tune but just ridiculous lyrics. Rubbish. |
By:
there are different interpretations of the lyrics.
one view is that each verse refers to a different member of the band, which is quite interesting. "here come old flattop, he come grooving up slowly...." - GEORGE "he wear no shoeshine, he got toe-jam football...." - RINGO "he bag production, he got walrus gumboot, he got ono sideboard...." - JOHN "he roller-coaster, he got early warning...." - PAUL if you take the lyrics at face value, and don't read anything too deep into them, then of course they make absolutely no sense whatsoever. which for a saturday night mass-audience entertainment show, probably doesn't make it an ideal song. still a decent funky tune though! |
By:
let it be is my fav song of all time but paije is a joker and should leave it alone

the y give katie stupid choices that make her befg during the song

What about Shakespeare? Do you think God is over rated? (Assuming he exists). |

Beatles
The greatest ever for me. So many wonderful songs. Youngsters from 14 to 90 seem to know all the words and sing along to all their songs. Just brilliant. |
By:
no youngsters know beatles songs . let it be my fav song but dont fink much of the rest of there songs
By:
dan
I think loads of youngsters know The Beatles songs. Don't ask me why they just do. Probably hear then on Muma and Dad's/ Nan and Grandad's radios and CD'S. |
By:
i would doubt they do tbh . the beatles are overhyped because they was 1 of the originals. queen have so many better songs
By:
dan
That's in your opinion you mean. |
By:
If the beatles only ever caused this to happen they deserve immortality.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQYDvQ1HH-E In essence pure epicurean philosophy. |
By:
lets be honest if u walked round town centres and asked kids around the age of 14 to 16 to name u a beatles song 90 percent of them wud struggle to name u 1

If true then :
Katie .....help Does not matter what she sings, she is bottom 2 material again. Although I thought her 'Don't Let Me Down' was rather good. Matt.... come together Slow, dull, dirge of a song. Olly Murs sang this didn't he?? Will drift for sure after this. Rebecca......yesterday Not sure about this. Could go either way. She should sings it acapella to make it stand out. Paije.....let it be Visualising him singing this with a big happy cheesy smile. Just does not suit him. Mary......Something She has the best song of the night, imho. However Mary will destroy it if she bellows it out with no emotions. One direction....All you need is love This is going to be a bit car crashy. Its going to look uncomfortable and sound dreadful when these kids strain the lyrics out with no conenctions to the words. Cher......Imagine Terrible song choice. Must be one of the cheesiest song ever. If she sticks a rap in the middle about loving the world then she is doomed. Wagner....Get back/hippy hippy shake/ hey jude You know what you're going to get. However he needs to start doing something different. I can already picture and hear him singing 'hey jude' with the foreign accent of his. Could be in danger this week. Botttom 2: Katie and Wagner (sorry) |
By:
Imagine. great song choice. No rap please.
Paige could get pimp spot and nail this if he does it soul style. If I was dirsting I'd start off Ray charles style then build it into a belter. Rebbecca I have bet she nails this. |

Extraordinary how most say Come Together is dull. It's a classic. Io reduce subjectivity look how others found it - it was a chart No 1 mega seller, Rolling Stone magazine had it as No 9 on their list of The Beatles' 100 Greatest Songs, and Michael Jackson chose to cover it.
Matt also has a choice of singing it moody or upbeat, not many songs give that choice. It also suits his style. Rebecca has a tougher job because Yesterday, like last week's Candle, is much more iconic than Come Together, it's many peoples favourite and many people have fixed ideas about it. On past record she'll pull it off though. (I don't think XF would want her to sing it a capella, nor would I as a backer). |
