Do me a favour what a ridiculous thing to say.  Is he suggesting that British footballers have their wages capped at £30k a year, or that soldiers get paid £200k a week?  The guy is a complete kn0b.  I don't think he has done a good thing at all, he's just scored a few cheap points at no cost to himself.  Nice to see he slipped in a swear word though to keep it real.  ROCK N ROLL!

Lou - I'm not worried because I am now green on him (just) because being realistic, I think he can win (just).  I'm more worried about the 1 Direction hype.  But I'm not going to say nice things about him just because it suits my betting.  I honestly can't see what's so good about Matt scoring cheap points like this.  You're too fixated onn him imho.

ok Lou, please explain why you think this makes him a better person?  To me doing something 'good' only counts if it involves some kind of sacrifice, effort, cost or downside on your part.  I fail to see how this pointless soundbite qualifies on any of these measures, but am very happy to hear your counter argument if you have one.

What I'm saying is lots here jump on every little teeny weeny bit of negatives about him but when something comes up like that below which is nothing great at all but at least it's not bad.  He's tried to say something in favour of 'our boys' so not a bad little touch but no one can come on and say 'yer fair enough, not a bad lad for saying it'.  Doesn't make him 'a better person' but he's not bad for saying it is he?

Does anyone really think Matt is in the position Danyl was in last year. From the word go he had in many peoples eyes something dislkable about him. Mainly arrogance and self love in the first place; this morphed into all kinds of wierdness over the weeks. By this time he was turning himself inside out to try and find a person that the public would like. He failed.

Matt has been acting extremely humble form the start. Maybe too much humble and too much act but he is in  nothing like the place Danyl got himslf into. Matt does not need to go into any psycho-social gymnastics all he needs to do is carry on with the Mr Humble and carry on working hard at his singing.

I will finally be honest. All I need is Matt to keep on as he is and I see no reason why he shouldn't and i will be quite happy with a Rebbecca, Matt. Cher and 1D final 4. I have no idea waht so ever who will win. With my luck Rebbecca will beat Matt. I have of course got that a bit covered. Not a lot but safely. Worst possible scenario is 1D so they will probably win. Best for me. A Matt/ Cher final.

So if I'm reading this right Lou, you're complaining because Matt's detractors haven't posted this and said "hey guys - here's something neutral about Matt for a change"

tbh this story has got up my nose more than anything else I have read about him.  His comment about the footballers shows that he hasn't given this a minutes thought so for him to say that it makes him sick is a blatant lie made up on the spur of the moment to make him look good.

No what I'm asking is why they post every teeny weeny thing that goes against him but when he does something that's a nice little touch they conveniently don't post it.  Wonder why?

Melv I agree that Matt is a totally different kettle of fish to Danyl.  Danyl was unfortunately unlikeable pretty much from the start.  Matt came across well at the start and its only his behaviour since that has raised question marks.  I don't think he has blown it yet (things get magnified on here and he isn't subject to the same level of scrutiny in the outside world) and I still believe that if the final was tomorrow he would win.

Lou, people on here tend to post stuff that reinforces their positions, but why are you so hostile about this?  Surely as a Matt backer you want to have every scrap of information good or bad so that you can be ahead of the game.  The purpose of this forum is to anticipate and be proactive rather than reactive.  You should be thanking people for posting stuff that could expose weaknesses in your position and give you the opportunity to bail out should you need to. 

Any objective person can see that Matt has shown lapses of judgement and undesirable charactor traits over the past weeks, yet rather than take these on board you blindly dismiss them and shout foul at the people who dares to post such info.  Why you take attacks on the person you have backed so personally is beyond me, but it happens every year. 

Then you question our masculinity for not applauding today's story.  Well sorry mate - to me this shows Matt as an insincere opportunistic bandwagon jumper - nothing else, and I'm still waiting for a coherent response to this point.

i think bunnyman was just give HONEST opinion on matt's statement.  nothing more, nothing less.  he's entitled to it as much as anyone else.

I do!  Therefore I wonderw ahy no one gives him that little tick in his favour.  Bit like a football team - they may have let in 12 goals perhaps but they did score 1.  can we mention the 1 as well please that's all.

I'm just replying to threads about Matt as I've explained before i get a lot of time during the day and I'm just bored so like joining in and seeing what people have to say.  If someone says "Matt can't sing he's got a high pitched voice" for instance then I'll reply 'hang om a minute etc etc etc.  Nothing wrong with that surely.

If there wasn't a Lou I'd probably have to do the job. Its a thankless task.

Someone's got to advance reasons why he is still fav. 1D are not falling apart as I hoped though.
