I don't think Matt's criticisms of Cowell and the show worry Cowell, I'm sure he loves the publicity and Rebecca is his chosen one anyway.

Obviouslly there’s not much else going on in the world at the moment because this is on the front page of the Mirror today. If he wants to protest about the show and Cowell, he should just walk off. But he isn’t going to do that, so he should just put up and shut up.
It’s probably a story done in collusion with XF because they’ve had enough of him and now’s the time to start putting the boot in. Goodbye Matt. |

I just read that. Is it really that bad? He's just saying what surely we all think that for someone like Wagner to saty at for arguememnts sake Aidens, TreyC, Matt, Rebecca's expense is just not right. He theh said he was disappointes his ex sold his story and he hopes she "pi$$es it up the wall" ................... Terrible thing to say? Really? |

my favourite line from matt is in the daily record:
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2010/11/16/x-factor-favourite-matt-cardle-blasts-simon-cowell-for-saving-katie-waissel-86908-22720294/ talking about his friendship with grace woodward, the show's stylist: "We get on because I don't cause her problems. Look at me, I don't need styling." quite funny actually!!!! |

I see "Golden Voiced" Matt starts and finishes the Charity single they have all done. In the same article he also sticks up for the armed forces wages. A good thing? Strange how nobody picked up on that (cough)

The thing about X-Factor PR you have to mull over:
Is anyone slagging Cowell a bad thing? Okay he pulls the string on the show and in the careers thereafter but are the public cottoning on to his overarching Svengali persona and rebelling against this? The 'Killing In The NAme Of' revolt last year was a gesture towards this. Even he can't control precisely what the public does and even he can't second guess the public, try as he might. Also, we are hothousing every little PR nuance in here. Most people don't have the time or the inclination. |

Well said, hear hear. |

i think the relevance of this recent anti cowell rant is not how it will impact his reputation with the public, but how inclined cowell might now be to do a full-scale stitch up job on him compared to previously.

just catching up lads
and it doesn't take long these days,as there seems to be an incredible amount of drivel posted on here ![]() squares made a good point about this year being similar to leona's year. but there does to be so many more x factor exclusive stories now do they really have much impact these days....i'm not so sure. does cowell really want another joe mceldery ?? the test is if he tries to get a dig at him on the main show...not in the papers. |

The real question is surely whether these stories are being fed through the Cowell / Clifford machine to just generate publicity regardless - or whether Matt is genuinely a loose cannon.
If it's the latter, I can't see them letting him win. As I said last week after a similar tirade from the Cardle - it smacks of Steve Brookstein all over again, and they won't want that at all... |
