Mary's singing 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' from the Lion King soundtrack.

Not one of my real favourites of his but nice enough I suppose. I think 'Someone saved my life tonight' is a nice song. I suppose there's so many Elton songs that it might not even be one being done. |
By:
I think she will probably sing that well but she only has a couple of weeks left at the most.
By:
I would guess she's ok for another three weeks .............. then could be in trouble.

Wagner - I'm still standing

that's a good one for Waggy if it's right

interesting matt quote" I grew up listening to elton john"
By:
nothing interesting about that crab
By:
I assume his parents were fans.
I grew up listening to The Doors (courtesy of my Mother) - doesn't mean I can rival Jim Morrison in the vocal stakes or play a keyboard like Ray Manzarek. |
By:
Matt's a far far better singer than Elton John. Elton's no vocalist he would admit himself.
By:
Lou - that's only your opinion of course and not a FACT
I'm a fan on neither, but EJ does has a distinctive recognisable voice whereas Matt sounds like many others |
By:
Iwish Aiden would do 'Song For Guy'.
It's virtually an instrumental and that way we would be spared his stupid whiney 'nearly singing'. Mind you we'd still have his waxed chest and flicky hairstyle to contend with. |
By:
I would say that EJ has an excellent singing voice/recording voice, which is pretty much evidenced by how many millions of records he's sold Lou!
By:
That's your opinion Stu which is fine. What I'm saying is he's not renowned for his voice and he would freely admit that himself. Much like Mick Jagger would I'm sure. Very good songwriter is the old poof and pianist but not considered a good singer. Someone like Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney, George Michael are considered generally to be good singers.
By:
Its not my opinion that he's sold millions of records. That is evidence not opinion. [;)]
By:
It's YOUR OPINION he's a good singer Stu ...... do try and keep up.
By:
It's all about opinions Lou - and obviously quite good (and profitable hopefully). BTW - I don't consider Paul McCartney a good singer by any stretch of the imagination regardless of how many millions of records he has sold.
By:
I suppose you could be right, if you presume that a vocal solo artist like EJ doesn't have to have a good voice to sell millions of records.
By:
stu
All I'm saying is he's not considered to be a good singer whereas Mccartney, Rod from the same era for instance are. |
By:
Not considered to be a good singer - you missed off the IMO there!

By:
No I never. In the music industry Elton John is not considered to be a singer of renowned. He's a wonderful songwriter (Bernie wrote the lyrics) and pianist but not considered a good singer.

lou uve lost it comparing matt with sir ej U R STONE MAD GO BACK TO SMOKING UR JOINTS LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
By:
Lou you do make me laugh - now you're the one arguing it's not about opinions! I think it's your 'opinion' that the music industry view him that way, and I certainly wouldn't agree. |
By:
stu
Tell you what. Have a good look on the net (I'll trust you to be honest) and see how many times you'll see McCartney and Rod Stewart are great singers .... then do the same with Elton. Tom Jones ..... good singer. Eric Clapton ...... guitarist not good singer. |
By:
but lou they have sold trillions of records something matt can only dream of THATS THE POINT
By:
are you relative of matts lou SOUNDS LIKE IT TO ME COME ON BE HONEST
By:
I'm not sure I've got time to do that Lou and even if I did, not sure I'd trust what I found on the net to make my mind up. Anyway, it's rather a pointless debate as we're not betting on how good a singer EJ is!
By:
fair enough stu you can quit while you're behind and we'll agree to disagree.
By:
Lou is clearly deaf. Why would anyone go on to net to see if somebody was a good singer?
By:
lol matt being compared to sir ej;UR BONKERS
By:
lou, ffs, rod stewart...
By:
Yep, sorry Lou, I think you've lost all of us on this one... Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney?!?! Could you have chosen two weaker singers to compare Elton to?!
I'm not saying they're better or worse - all three have unique voices and to some degree are an acquired taste. All three are ultra talented and all three have made millions from their undoubted songwriting / performing ability. But I don't think any of this trio would go down as the greatest singer. Anyway, it's all just opinions at the end of the day. Like comparing apples with oranges. Or in Matt's case, comparing apples with orang-utans! |
By:
Rod had a terriffic soulful voice Nick and has an incredible range. Try belting out one of his songs in the car you'll get nowhere near it. Very high voice. Gone now obviously but he aint bad for 65!
"You Wear it Well" ...............aaah great singalong stuff. |
By:
Mark E Smith is better than any of them...ah
By:
You'll be saying Shaun Ryder next... Talking of which, I hope you got on at 10s for IACGMOOH!
By:
1. Never heard of Mark E Smith
2. Don't touch IACGMOOH but after chatting with 'Figgy' have had a cheeky £14 to win a ton on Nigel Havers. "COME RACING" |
By:
I'm not sure I'd back him with yours Dizzy
I joined the Stacey craze a little in the end |
By:
He'll go down similarly to MES would with this audience I suspect
By:
That's definitely a good shout - on Havers too at 8s. Those two stand out a mile on personality alone - and both should be good trades later on...
