While I agree that this is not news and anyone that bets on specials with any regularity knows this kind of thing happens all the time, but there is a case to answer to a degree surely?

When a judge has two acts in the bottom two they have always gone to them last (ever since Sharon Osborne walked off stage in Series One I think).  They then have the chance to take it to deadlock, making the judge's votes effectively null and void, putting the decision in the hands of the public.

OK, so going to Cheryl last makes the judge's vote pointless unless all three voted for one singer (unlikely), but 'twas ever thus...  Therefore those betting on Katie would have done so in the likelihood that it would go to deadlock and counting on her unpopularity to see her finish bottom of the public vote.

This eventuality was reflected in the prices - and why Treyc represented value.  This was picked up by all of the forum regulars in the debates on the bottom two before Sunday's show.

For the record, I was on Treyc with a saver on Katie, but I can understand Katie backers feeling a little aggrieved.

However, c'est la vie when it comes to specials betting!  All's fair in love and X Factor...

Where were you lot and where were the front page tabloid headlines when the producers of BB decided who they'd like to win and eradicated all competition with two weeks left?

It's what should be expected from reality TV

Good point GB - I conveniently forgot about that as I saw my 7/2 BB bet turn into a 1/10 shot instantly [;)]
