As everyone suspected Sundays result was a sham with Cowell deciding who should go and deadlock not given a chance because Katie had come miles last.

Three ties she has been in the sing off now. The only time deadlock was allowed was when Cowell knew Katie would be saved by the vote.

You can be certain that on both other times that Katie was in the sing off she had come last in the vote so dealock was not allowed in either of them.

O'Leary, Cole and Walsh were all shown on Sunday to be puppets with none of them having any credibility left for having any say in the show.

I always liked Dermot 0'Leary but he was obviously working unders orders to go to Cheryl second. But he did not have to go along with it.

I wouldn't be certain Katie was bottom on Sunday

ICM had Treyc on 1% and Katie on 3

Well it says in the papers today that Katie got a third of the votes than Tracey.

Would you lay even money george that Katie came bottom not only this time but also on the other time she was spared from the final viwers vote?

O'Leary is the presenter and goes along with whatever the producers tell him in his earpiece.  As long as it doesn't involve violence or abusive language why anyone would expect him to do anything else is beyond me.

So it was a set up.  So...  The whole show is largely a set up from start to finish.  They got 16.7 million viewers last week.  They wouldn't get close to that if they didn't "set things up"

Should voters get their money back

Yes and I think gamblers should get their money back when they lose. It's not nice to lose money and it can cause stress.

Last night an X Factor spokeswoman said Sunday's bizarre episode was above board.

She said: "A judge can abstain from voting. Cheryl made it clear she would not send anyone home. She was unable to take the vote to deadlock as deadlock requires a valid active vote."

A judge can abstain apparently.  It's in the rulebook!

Front page story in The Sun.  Nice publicity for the show.

I strongly advise any reality show punting aficianado to watch the film "Live"
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B November 9, 2010 2:25 PM GMT
I can understand why Cheryl didn't want to favour one acy and she did say 'well I'll take it to deadlock' then.  I don't however understand how Katie went through of the two.  I think Treyc was by far the better every week and in the sing off walked over. Whereas we can argue that Matt might be better than Rebecca or Rebecca may be better than Matt, that's a fair arguement and both will have many arguing in their favour but Katie the better of the two against TreyC?  Not fair IMO that she's out and Katie still in.
Report CLYDEBANK29 November 9, 2010 2:33 PM GMT
Lou since when has the XF ever been fair?  It isn't fair.  FYD and John Adelieye got by far the worst of it not Treyc.  Katie creates publicity.  TreyC doesnt and she got a favourable draw on the night and received the money slot in week 1.  She wasnt popular regardless.

It's not about who is the best singer etc..It's about who is going to be the most easy to sell to the ludicrously gullible general public by Cowell and his mob.
Report Mikeeey November 9, 2010 2:59 PM GMT
Cowell often says his decision in the sing-off is based on the performance.  He couldn't really use that reason this week so decided that he would base it on who he thought the public would like to see again.  How did he work that one out?  I've read that Weasel got the lowest vote.  Why doesn't he just say he kept her in because she's an attention-seeker and creates publicity for his show.  Does he think we're all mugs.

how do you know katy was polling last in the voting ??

No one has replied to this with certainty. Does this mean that the public vote, financed by the public, is not publically available?
Report paddletoe November 9, 2010 10:25 PM GMT
My point about voters getting their money back still seems a valid one as people who pay money to vote do so on the understanding that their vote counts. On Sunday that was not the case as it appeared pre planned that Katie would stay. Yes, jusdges have the ultimate say in who goes and thats understood as their opinion and votes is primary to the countback if there is a split vote and it goes to deadlock.

But on Sunday it was pre planned that the sing off would not be allowed to go to deadlock and the public vote. The sing off was meaningless.

Cowell's had to find a different reason from usual to justify his decision. His reason this time was very contradictory. He said he voted the way the viewers would vote. Which considering the fact that he made sure the sing off would not go to deadlock because once again the voters showed their dont like Katie was a bizare reason.

O'Leary's part in the fix was that under orders he went to Cheryl second and never give her much of a chance to make a vote.
Report paddletoe November 9, 2010 10:36 PM GMT
A more valid reason for voting off Tracey would have been that in the sing off she chose a very lacklustre song and she should have attempted something more original but the reasons given by the judges lacked any credibility and contradicted everything they had previously said throughout the series.

Absolutely FLL - that's why specials betting has to always carry a wealth warning...  And why you almost always have to hedge your bets and create a book rather than work in absolutes.  A lesson that most of us have probably learned the hard way!

I was not saying punterss who backed Katie should get their money back, but that they should not be allowed to keep the money of folk who voted.

I was not talking about betting at all but yes i did back Katie but dont at all feel hard done by. Feel more a mug about myself for not seeing it coming. I backed Katie to go thinking she would probably be up against Tracy and thought that at best Katie could only get a deadlock and would then lose the public vote. I thought it was a given Cheryl would vote last and if it was 2-1 in the judges vote she would be too weak to do anything other than level the voting scores and bring it to deadlock, thereby letting the public decide who should stay.

But my overthinking how things would go and my own stupidity has nothing to do with the fact that if you acceept the judges voting was fixed to keep Katie in then offcom should investigate the unfairness of the bent deck of cards xfactor were dealing from and voting monies should be given back or at least given to some worthy charity.

if the judges know it will be a better tv show if katie stays, its not bent keeping katie its good sense, why would the producers want judges that wont do as they are told!Devil

If you read todays sun it backs up everything i said in my previous post with Dermot admitting it was fixed to save Katie in advance by not allowing the sing off to go to deadlock.

My point is not that its a shock xfactor is manipulated by Cowell but th voting on Sunday.

At the time Dermot was still asking viewers to vote on Sunday the result was already decided. Anyone spending money to vote for tracy on Sunday did so with faith in that their vote had at least some potential to shape the result.

But the result had already been decided that the judges voting would be fixed to ensure Katie stayed while Dermot was still giving the phone number to vote for Tracy. It was phone voting fraud for which other tv phone voting competitions have been fined for.
Report mach November 10, 2010 10:05 AM GMT
if people had voted in numbers for tracy she would not be bottom 2, so votes counted for something
if katie and most other combos even waggy were bottom 2, katie would have gone
the truth is that tracy was not very good not entertaining and not liked, we have seen a dozen like her before on x-factor she is ten a penny

Utterly baffled by all these people calling a fix.

People vote to save their favourites, those left in the bottom two are at the mercy of the judges.
