I agree with George Brush. Everybody hurts would be a brilliant song choice for Matt. I am not sure anyone on xfactor has ever sang this song which is even better and many of the viewing punlic might never have heard this song before which is even better again.
Songs with a sombre element are the real vote winners if you can pull it off. If Matt could pull it off with everybody hurts on the final week and can bring one of the judges to shedding some tears he would win in my opinion. |

Yes good song GB/Paddletoe.

only song was bleeding love that he sang that wasnt all low keys and he showed his vulnerabilities

I would love to see both Aiden and Matt sing everybody hurts. Would be interesting to see who would give more feling to this great song.
Oh i was wrong about it not being sung on xfactor before. Diana Vickers sung it. However, it was far too dark and sombre song for her. |

Actually, forget everything i said.
I got the song mixed up. I was thinking of the song "Hurt" by nine inch nails and then johnny cash. Thats the song for Matt and Aiden. |

Everybody Hurts was REM wasn't it?
By:
aye
By:
Yes I think Matt would put that across well but there's so many songs they could all do it must be hard picking just one.
By:
Everybody Hurts has been done to death by now though. Out again not so long ago as a charity record. I think doing obvious songs like that just seems a tad cliched.

Okay what do you fellas think about this song for Matt which he could play with the guitar. I reckon the audience would go mad for it, stomping their feet and yahooing.
Its called Galway Girl by Steve Earle. Here is a clip of Gerard Butler singing it in a movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDX7cApv934 |

can't be bothered to look atm but is it the one from some of the old Magner's ads ?
By:
Dont know squares, its from the film ps i love you.
By:
pretty certain it was used in Magner's ads. XF will never go down that route. It's cliched old poodle rock all the way in general.

Here's a serious suggestion though....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOGp4XXjLVQ The voice hardly compares with Paul Buchanan, but to be fair the falsetto does |
By:
George
A couple of things: 1. You do like a dirgy tune don't you. There must be better songs than that surely. 2. There isn't no falsetto in it. I listened to it on youtube (never heard it ever before) and he doesn't sing falsetto at all. |
By:
if he tried the bedingfield song he would fail miserably because there is no way he could compete with the shane ward version, which was the highlight of his winning year if i remember rightly
By:
I wasn't around for the Shayne Ward year so I dunno.
By:
In Buchanan's more limited range the high notes would count as falsetto Lou. You like an argument don't you
![]() Matt could certainly sing them in falsetto |
By:
And yes, I love a dirgy tune.
I'm beggining to realise most of the forum were brought up on the NOW albums ![]() |
By:
George
That's not falsetto full stop. He would have a limited range especially compared to Matt, who wouldn't but he's still not singing falsetto in that song believe me. If Matt sang it in a higher key he may well have to do it in falsetto but that key would be easy for him to hit. |
