Don't know who Dean Piper is, but v interesting if true...

Will certainly clear out the trash sitting in the bottom four - with two from Treyc, Katie, Wagner and Paije gone.

Dean is a Celebrity & Showbiz Expert and Cultural Commentator and currently the celebrity and entertainment columnist for The Sunday Mirror.

Dean is a regular celebrity expert on BBC News 24, Sky News and Radio Five Live for high profile showbiz stories as well as working at various BBC Radio stations all over the country. He has also secured himself a regular morning showbiz slot for radio Cumbria FM on the Robbie Dee Breakfast show.

Sounds reliable enough then!
Report cjhornet November 5, 2010 10:39 PM GMT
probably, would also make sense. They really need to do them soon.
Report Dizzy42 November 5, 2010 10:40 PM GMT
Yeah, I couldn't have this idea of five in the final weekend.  Would have made a mockery of the latter stages.
Report NXRBL November 5, 2010 10:42 PM GMT
Double bubble for two weeks means it's a 3 & 2 finals weekender 11/12 Dec like last year. This might be good for Katie/TreyC this week, as they know they're teetering on the edge at the moment.
Waggy/Paije fans might be a bit more complacent and land them in it too!?!
Report Dizzy42 November 5, 2010 10:42 PM GMT
They'll obviously be aware that there is a gap developing between the bottom four (Treyc, Katie, Wagner and Paije) and the rest - at least according to all known stats...

If that's the case, it's as good a time as any to have a clear out over the next two weeks.  Then it's game on!
Report GymTanLaundry November 5, 2010 10:46 PM GMT
i reckon next week is ripe for a shock eviction.

rumours of take that, jls and westlife performing on sunday night - high ratings, perfect for a shock!

Every series has a good shock...  Despite backing them early on, I think it could be One Direction.
Report GeorgeBrush November 5, 2010 10:52 PM GMT
True, that's a more realistic idea all round

1D B3 could be worth a bet?
Report George Bailey November 6, 2010 7:14 AM GMT
Mary B3 before 1D surely?
Report GeorgeBrush November 6, 2010 8:40 AM GMT
I doubt it myself. She has proven support
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B November 6, 2010 10:08 AM GMT
I think even with two eveictions Mary surely safe?
Report George Bailey November 6, 2010 10:41 AM GMT
Probably Lou but I'm just saying Mary relative to 1D ie who would be in bottom 3 first.

Not sure how strong Mary's core vote is and her choice tonight seems to me to be very risky if true.  Blah sort of song with a few vocal subtleties that could well have Mary struggling well out of her 60s belters club songs comfort zone.
Report GeorgeBrush November 6, 2010 10:43 AM GMT
Mary has a core vote
Doubtful 1D have

Plenty of signs Cowell is panicking about them being b2

Run me throught their slots again?  Probably pimp tonight. Might be time to run up a nice red

George

Yes but personally I don't think 1D are much kop at all.  We surmise she's getting a strong Irish vote and all the women 'of a certain age' are probably behind her (and she's a good singer you know!) but are 1D doing overly well with the votes?  They could be scraping through every week.  From the few small polls we've seen they seem to be struggling.

song change and they've brought on the dancing girls.

Cowell obviously worried about the vote they're getting.
Report attitude adjuster November 6, 2010 10:58 AM GMT
i'm a one d layer

but being bottom 2 may be no bad thing for them

it gets them in the spotlight, gets them publicity, kickstarts the "journey",avoids future voter/fan complacency etc

didn't harm jls.
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B November 6, 2010 11:00 AM GMT
attitude

No 'bottom 2' act ever won it though?  Surely it must be better to avoid it which means at least you're getting a decent amount of votes.  Well enough to beat two acts every week at least.
Report attitude adjuster November 6, 2010 11:03 AM GMT
jls and ray quin both reached the final 2 though.

many of the others who were never bottom 2 went out before them

Ben,Diana Vickers,Eggnog..
Report squares November 6, 2010 11:03 AM GMT
JLS could have won had SCowell decided to give them "the treatment" in the final.

G4 would probably have won had Brookstein not fluffed his lines, and if Sharon O didn't have her mega tantrum.

Let's hope BF get an 8th Elimination market up as soon as it's 'confirmed'
Report ghatroonh November 6, 2010 5:46 PM GMT
Bottom 2 for 1D would be disastrous for them - they'd be complete write offs - anyone who thinks otherwise is kiddig themselves.

1D are over reliant on the teen vote and they always will be, because quite frankly they're not very good and if it wasn't for their looks they'd be out by now.

The teen vote is active from the word go - it's a very strong force in the early weeks (as seen by Lloyd and Eoghan's votes in the early stages), but it doesn't get stronger - it loses power as the weeks go by.

Its a double this week according to the Star.
Report layprofessional November 11, 2010 9:35 AM GMT
agreed one direction very average at best
Report LendUsAFiver November 11, 2010 10:59 AM GMT
If it's a double eviction they can't save Katie :0.

Although Simon will probably wait another week so he can control who goes and keep Katie in for the tour.
Report Mikeeey November 11, 2010 11:42 AM GMT
I won't believe it's a double elimination until Dermot says so.  They probably don't even decide this until saturday afternoon anyway.
Report stringerbell November 11, 2010 11:51 AM GMT
i think there is every chance they wont decide this until sunday night, as a tool for getting rid of vagner

peope that think 1d will be bottom 3 are pissing in the wind, tey may not be v good, but there is no chance of bottom 3

but i do think that within two weeks cowell is going to have to start playing his trump card, ballads with harry singing, and then they'll get a couple of weeks at least of bounce...all the way to the final. prob wont win it though, because they re simply not good enough
Report Dizzy42 November 11, 2010 10:58 PM GMT
The double elimination is being saved in order to kick out Wagner now, for sure...

As soon as he's hovering around the danger zone, he'll be in the graveyard slot and in a sing off before you can say "Cowell is a manipulative ****!!!"
