Who's backing who?

All the others will have backed whoever wins because as you know no one loses on Betfair.  I however nail my colours to one mast.  Said it from the very start ..... Matt.

Lou, from what I can work out you tend to back one runner and let it ride, whereas a lot of specials regulars trade well, and back/lay most runners. Books are constantly changing and good trading theoretically means you have  'backed whoever wins'. Hope this doesn't come across as patronising, but I know that the decent sorts on here will freely admit when they have made a loss. Your 23.57 post just sounds bitter.

But yes for some of us it's going to change on an almost daily basis. If you're trading well you need never back the winner in order to make a substantial profit.

Oh I know that they're trading all the time, hopefully buying high and selling low ...... look at Wagner for instance.  No one actually thinks he can win but to buy at say 150/1 and sell at 50/1 can't be bad.

What I'm saying though is everything is done to a 100% here so in theory there's no profit or loss if you backed them all type of thing.  I don't understand how they can all pick out the ones that are going to go lower and back them, at the same time laying all the ones that they know will drift higher?  Crystal ball perhaps.  They will never come on and admit that they've backed one and they've drifted or laid one who's now much lower.

Look at last year for instance.  Who came on aftwerwards and said by Joe winning they'd lost?  Very very very few and they'd probably say they lost £40 or something.  Everyone wins on Betfair?

I clearly have said from the start of the live finals that Matt is my bet.  I initially laid four girls because IMO they wouldn't win it.  They may well do of course.  I also, because of the high odds backed Nicolo and Aiden at 38 and 12 respectivly.  All these bets were placed BEFORE THE ACTUAL TV FINALS BEGAN.

I backed Matt who was the one I had my eye on during the bootcamp, judges houses stage all along after his first performance on the live finals three weeks ago.

I'm not 'some sort of messiah' I'm merely giving my opinion.

I've backed One Direction, Mary and Rebecca. Of those, I'm happiest with Rebecca at the moment. Missed the boat on Matt, he's the one to beat right now but it's very early days and I think someone will.

Ive backed Katie Waissel after the audition show and her price is still bigger now help!.  If she doesnt win i think Matt will beat Rebecca in the final

I backed Katie too unfortunately. She had been the most prolific and successful singer of all pre competition. But she has a particular style which doesn't always lend itself to the song choices of others and, most of all, what was unknown pre competition, is that she has a catastrophic over eager personality.

If my life depended on it I would back One Direction. But it doesn't. so pre-Saturday's show I backed the act that most excites me and the one I look forward to seeing the most - Katie. She may not be everybody's cup of beef tea, but to my limited eyes she has something about her. Obviously she needs the despised - admired - liked - loved journey (and this is certainly not going to be easy), but at around 55 I thought she was worth a small play.

Matt biggest winner, one direction second biggest due to listening to posts on here on opening night and Rachael 3rd biggest winner as her voice is incredible and was my biggest green but traded some off before last week as she was failing to spark.

Massive losers for me are Aiden and Cher and the main reason why my top 3 are soo good for me. Everyone else is a smallish loss.

Got stung to hell when I laid Ulrika at 25s for BB, so I never take anything for granted, but in a healthy position
