this argument which i have seen on numerous threads about "simon not wanting certain acts to win" is total b0llox.if simon got what he wanted he would have won every season and susan boyle would have won b.g.t. and he would have had the xmas no 1 last year.

when it comes down to it, even though he manages to keep people watching his programmes he doesn't have the final say, the public do, and since these reality shows started they havn't been wrong on too many occasions.

and by the way don't come back at me with steve brookstein and leon etc because for all they didn't go on to do anything....who did make it massive from their seasons shows ?

You didn't see the way that SC stitched up the really likeable Nikitta to clear the way for the less likeable but far more talented and marketable Leona then bustar?  Sorry mate but you're totally wrong - if Cowell has decided you're not winning you're not winning.

He may not have had exactly everything he has aimed for in each series but he is certainly winning the majority of battles he takes on - he is the master of killing off an act's chances. Only time I think he failed was with Leon, but every other winner has had his backing.

bunnyman is correct

if Cowell calls you a failed rock star, you might as well pack your bags there and then

Absolutely, Cowell calls the shots.  Not just what he says directly either, the other 3 judges know what side their bread is buttered. Don't be fooled by the mock arguments etc between the judges, the other 3 are in SC's pocket.  You think Danni will give up this gig on a point of principal?  To do what exactly....

Look at the profile the other 3 judges have now compared to before X-Factor.  No-one could have picked Louis out of a crowd.  Danni was vaguely remembered as Kylie's sister.  Cheryl Cole was the one out of Girls Aloud who married Ashley.

This series is going exactly as expected so far.  The other acts like Mary etc always get huge levels of praise in the early rounds.  Give it another few weeks & the subtle demolition of the opposition will begin.

When the judges start standing up & clapping during a OD performance, that's the time you know that they're 1.01.....

bustarhymes - sorry mate, miles off there...simon doesn t want to win every year, what good does that to the credibility of the show. he doesnt care which judge wins - its all the same to him. but he hasnt won for five years and thats why he has the boyband this year - he thinks he can get them over the line

SC's biggest stitch up was of the dancing dog in the last BGT, after fawning over it and it winning the semi-final presumably by a landslide to get him worried that the dog might win, he does a total about turn in the final.

All of a sudden on the night of the final the dog is too old, he implys that the dancing is not good for it's welfare, the dog's not enjoying it, yet two nights before he was gushing.
