In finishing order, the Top Eight will be:
One Direction,
Matt,
Rebecca,
Mary,
Cher,
Aiden,
Paije,
John.

I think Paije, John, Treyc, Aiden, Belle Amie & Rebecca are looking the most vulnerable; just a case of working out which 2 out of those 6 scrapes through to the last 8. So:

Wagner
Katie
Cher
One Erection
Matt
Mary
Belle Amie (involved in another sing-off in 2 weeks time)
Aiden (my long shot to end up in sing-off this week)

I reckon Cowell will really push Belle Amie into reaching the last 8 to ensure he doesn't have his eggs all in one basket - by ramping them, his ramping of One Erection doesn't look quite so blatant and transparent.

figgy

Do you honestly think that Matt will only finish 5th in this competition?  I'm not saying you're wrong as he could go out this week of course but both your logic and watching the runners' and riders tells you he will finish 5th?
Report five leaves left October 19, 2010 5:28 PM BST
Gawd knows Lou :)

He clearly became very popular, if not the most popular act, after his bootcamp performance.
He's held onto most of that support, though even his biggest fans will concede he hasn't been very good in his 2 lives performances.

I don't believe he's picked up any new fans and if he continues to perform at the level he has over the last 2 weeks, I think he'll lose a fair amount of his existing support.

5th seems reasonable if he doesn't improve and It will only take Cowell to tell the truth one week and his price goes northwards.
Report A1 Bionic October 19, 2010 5:34 PM BST
I get the impression you dont like him fll

To say his biggest fans would agree that he hasnt been very good in the 2 live performances is just plain bollox   imo
Report five leaves left October 19, 2010 5:41 PM BST
LOL A1, I'm not keen.

Ok 'not very good' is a bit of an exaggeration.
Not as good as expected and not as good as his bootcamp performance.
I think most would agree with that?

Others have surpassed their performances in the audtion. John and Mary in particular for me.
Report five leaves left October 19, 2010 5:42 PM BST
..and ofcourse Aiden, the 1st week.
Report A1 Bionic October 19, 2010 5:51 PM BST
I agree his audition and bootcamp were better performances but, his performances in the 2 shows, with songs I havnt been exactly keen on, have been more than ok

Mary and Aidens song choices have been spot on imo and Aiden still managed to ballsup last week

When Matt starts to get more "popular" songs i think he will show these lot up
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B October 19, 2010 6:00 PM BST
A1/Figgy

I agree with both of you.  I liked the look/sound of him from the very start but don't think he's quite been 'wow' in the first two weeks.  Good don't get me wrong but I've rated him about 7.5 both weeks.

However I've not liked his first two songs and as A1 says give him a real popular showstopper and I think he could blow this lot away.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 19, 2010 6:30 PM BST
Thought his Week 1 was very good with a difficult song, and one I usually am not keen on. Thought he was relatively poor in week 2 but the feedback from it was exceptional. Massive player considering we know there is more to come.

Easy one this one:

Matt
One Direction
Rebecca
Aiden
Mary
Cher
Treyc
John

Belle Amie and Wagner are both certainties to go before the half way stage, if not this week, while I don't know where Paije's support is coming from.

Although Katie is a good enough singer to make the cut, the negative press and bottom three appearances have to make her this year's Adedeji.  Her days are numbered too..
Report DeSSieReborn October 20, 2010 11:11 AM BST
After last weeks debacle Aiden had better come up with the goods this week or he'll be under pressure.

John is like Mr Nobody......no press, no controversy, nothing but on and gone. nothing memorable for me so far. he could therefore be the dark horse as he is getting votes from somewhere. what will happen when he emerges??
