My only big position so far has been the laying of Cher (but I haven't written her off and may buy back).

In both of her live songs I was looking for some power and versatility in her voice but it was not to be - in the choruses each time they blasted in a backing track. That would be unthinkable for Matt or Rebecca so I suspect they don't think Cher's up to it but want to protect Cheryl's controversial decision (over Gamu) for a while.

Funnily enough the best thing for Cher maybe to just have her sing a normal song for a change, one that suits her voice. But they won't because they think show needs "relevance" and "contemporary" and she's also a show feature like Jedward so she'll keep getting Jedward style large publicity and outlandish productions.
