Watched the show in the early hours when I got in and firstly thought it was far far too long. It was also the most camp/gay filled show I've ever seen. Only Matt, John and the boyband seem hetrosexual but who knows with them even luvs?
Was holding back from backing my main bet because I was really worried about Gamu whom I thought was easily the best of the girls from what I'd seen. As I said in a thread before a travesty she wasn't in the three and then there's a chance she could be the 4th but she's still not picked? Must be the visa situation IMO as to me she was the best of all the girls, possibly the whole field.
I'd laid all three girls before last night's show, just topping up a bit of my lay on Cher this morning after I'd watched the show. Like I said thought Gamu was very good but the other three I'm hoping won't win it with Cher being the pick of the three if I had to choose the best. I haven't laid TreyC as I didn't know she was in it when I went out before the show.
I backed Nicolo to win about £1500 because I thought he had a real chance specially at them odds (I got 38) but he never did so well and has doubled in odds almost. I also backed Aiden to win about £1500. I got 12 and he's now down to about 5.4 so great stuff. I won't lay any off yet. The one I wanted to back all along was Matt but I was worried about the wildcards especially Gamu. I thought he's odds would rise if she was in it but ended up backing him at 5.5 after watching the show which was about what he was before the show started. I've had £400 on him to win it. I've also backed 'Storm' because I don't think he's an 80/1 shot but don't think he'll win it. As it stands now if one of the three girls (not Treyc) win it I am red for £1838.76 within a couple of pound all three of them. I've given you these figures because doubters seem not to believe me. I'm an honest chap and yesterday posted a bet with all the details from my 'current bets' account I'd had to try to prove to them I'm telling the truth. I hope someone's at least good enough to confirm they saw this as I was told to delete the thread as I'd given away too many account details! It's gone now. I can post again if I have to but hopefully not.
Anyway enough of that. Here are my HONEST opinions of last night. I won't talk through my book I'll be as honest as I can. What's the point of blatantly saying 'Matt was the best last night and Rebecca the worst, for instance? I haven't even heard of almost half the songs so was dissapointed all round.
Here goes with marks out of ten:
FYD: Thought they danced ok but the singing not great. Could be in trouble tonight. 5
MATT: My tip to win it in a two horse race with Aiden but last night not as good as we've seen at the earlier stages. Sang well in what was a song I'd never heard before and a poor choice it was but looks awkward, barely leaving the spot. Nice chap and can do a lot better. 7
JOHN: Thought he had an outside chance as he's done well at the earlier stages but last night was drab (never heard the song again) and very average. Forgettable. 5
REBECCA: One in with an obvious chance. Good singer and a good song choice (I knew that one!) Comes across as a nice girl too. Didn't think she sang great last night though but did quite well and like Matt and a few others looked very stiff barley moving again. The winner of the X Factor? .......... Not for me on last night's showing. 6.5
DIVA: Thought they did quite well actually. Great song choice, sang it quite well. Ridiculous choreography and outfits but entertaining and made me smile. Well done. 6
PAIGE: Was plesed to see him through as I thought he was good all along but in the best of the groups to choose from was edged out. Thought he sang well what was another good song. Very likeable young man who will prove popular I feel. More to come I think. 6.5
KATIE: Of all the girls at the judges houses I thought she was the worst so surprised she made it through in the first place. Better than Gamu???
Thought it was a poor song choice, very drab and she sang it badly. Flat in parts and one of the worst of the night. I think she could be in trouble tonight. 4.5
STORM: A bit like Jamie last year I like him. Sang a catchy, upbeat number and did it well I thought. Very camp as were many but one of the better ones of the night. 7
BEL AMIE: Thought these did really well at Simon's house and can see why he picked them but one of the worst of the night again. Drab song, singing out of tune here and there too. Very poor and trouble beckons. 4
CHER: I think she's better than last night. A bit hit n' miss, comes across too cocky on stage and don't like the rapping. Not great all round. Had some bad publicity and already I don't overly like her. That said she at least puts on a performance rather than standing there very stiff as did a good few of these and can sing well. 6
MARY: Well done. Can't help but like her and sang well as she did at her audition. The wife's of Irish stock so she's had twenty quid on her @32 so she'll be pleased. I thought bar Aiden the best of the night and she'll be around for a while. No gimmicks with this girl just sings ..... and sings well. Smashing stuff 7.5
NICOLO: Very dissapointed with him. Was my other big choice as a real runner. I backed him at 38 thinking it real value but after last night he's just about doubled. Did ok, very very camp again and I think he'll progress a fair way surmising he doesn't go tonight what with the double bullet. Still think he's better than that with more to come. 5.5
THE BOYS: Wanted to keep these on my side as I thought they had 'something'. Didn't think they'd win maybe but go a long way. Last night was awful with the Indian looking guy just dreadful. Never heard of the song and thought it a very poor choice. Again one of the worst of the night. 4.5
WAGNER: We all like him yes, not sure he's all there but dreadful last night. Just a novelty act with them songs. I'm sure he's a bit better than that but will he be around to show us more? THE Worst of the night for me. 3.5
AIDEN: Best of the night. Good song choice, sang it well and I thought he's done well from the very start that's why I backed him. He does look awkward though a bit like Matt, Rebecca. Closing his eyes and acting a bit weird. Too stiff and needs to show us he can move a bit. In a two horse race now IMO to win it although it's only been one week so hard to tell. 8
TREYC: Another one who showed right through she could sing but in a hard group never made the final three. Glad she's in it but again not as good as Gamu IMO. Thought she did ok. Can't see why the judges overplayed her contribution. Didn't know the song myself. Not bad but not good. She can do better than that. 6
THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS. Some will agree, many will disagree but I've tried to be totally HONEST. For instance Matt is my main bet but was he the best last night? ..... No he wasn't. I've backed Nicolo but was he good last night ..... No he wasn't.
It's a fair opinion based on last night's performances which would probably match what most people are thinking after last night's show. Helmuthian has done a similar thread with similar views. It's hard to disagree with either of you in general.
I really don't think you need to make such an issue of all this "HONEST" stuff and expect everyone is now going to have a pop at you nor do you need to go into such intricate details of the business you are doing. You seem to make a bigger thing of it that everyone else.
I'm interested in reading the views of a variety of posters on here. I'm not particularly interested in the minutiae of what they are up to.
Agree with an earlier poster. Gamu is gone - get over it. We don't really know how well she would have performed in a live show situation as we hadn't really seen a great deal of her performing. Some disappoint, some don't.
And just because someone like TreyC, for example, is the "wildcard" doesn't necessarily mean they are the 4th choice. They could well have been the first choice for the category.

Fair enough write up Lou, agree with you largely. Only one I'd disagree about is Storm (coming from someone with a green on him), who I think is doomed for a reasonably early bath after last night. Lack of support from the public according to my figures.
Good luck and don't let people on here get to you

I'm going to answer you because I think you've been very civil and tried to be fair.
I obviously don't want to tell exactly what I've backed/laid on each runner but people will just say 'don't belive you' 'aftertiming' that's why I had a trial go yesterday so I now know I can prove any doubters wrong and if anything make THEM look silly.
I keep saying HONEST because I really am trying to be just that. Regarding Gamu I thought she was terriffic and the pick of the girls that's all.
All the best and thanks.

Heard thew song title but honestly don't know the song. As I've explained before a 'new' song in the car for me to listen to is 'Sounds of the Seventies' at the moment!! Might have a bit of Rod and The Faces after that.

Don't mean to be harsh, but have you seriously never heard "One" by U2 (Treyc's song last night)? It's been covered by everyone from Johnny Cash to Mary J. Blige.
