Cher - more hits on utube, and it's the younger fans that vote i reckon. 9-1 looks good. I've seen her do other types of music and she's ok.

I've been saying for a while that she was a big price. The biggest fanbase of the contestants, the chavs love her and now the judges love her, which I was unsure of.

I think she should be fav really. We just need to get the press onside.

And seems a bit Achillean of Cheryl to want her to win. Why would you want to put a clone of yourself into the music industry to compete with you for record sales? Something's going to go sour between them.

I see the words "one trick pony" being used more than once for her over the coming weeks.

See a lot of similarities between Cher and Diana Vickers.  The 'quirky' one, Cheryl's chosen one, big social network fanbase.  Even the laryngitis !

Diana Vickers only topped the weekly vote one time.  There also seems to be an arrogance about Cher that might appeal to the younger voters but probably won't to the older voters.  Would rather be a layer than a backer at the current price.

Vickers was a lot more cuddly than Cher, even with all her faults

Ugly as sin and cant sing!!! Only got through cause they were not sure if they could buy Treyc out of her management deal! As soon as that was confirmed Cowell changed the rules and brought Treyc back with this wild card crap.

Good to see Kelly Rowland, Tinnie Tempah & Mel B cream themselves over Cher last night on the Xtra Factor, infact she got good press all way through the programme. 3.0 can't be far away.

Don't mistake youtube hits with popularity, I know ppl that have told me to watch her & every time it's been to see how awful she is & marvel that she made it past boot camp.

Agree with Pretty in pink over "wild card crap". I hate the wild cards - it's runied the competition from a betting point of view and also from a fan point of view.

Oh and in regards to Cher - i want her to win because it's about time this show produces a talent that isn't 'nice and polished'. Shayne, Leona, Leon, Alexandra and Joe all fit the same kind of theme (and dont forget everyone thought steve brookstein was nice before he won the show) and im quite frankly bored of it.

Well it is popularity. If you wanted to look for a laugh at how bad she is, you'd look at her once. But she has several million more hits than any of the others.

Can she win? I don't know, but she's definitel there for the long haul.

Who knows, but she's definitely got the biggest fanbase, and her odds will certainly get shorter over the next few weeks.

i think they could get a bit shorter too.  definite potential to lay under 6/1, however she cannot possibly end up winning the thing.

facebook fans and youtube views don't always translate to winners, as diana vickers and lloyd daniels will testify.

she may be around for a few weeks yet, but will not win.

Don't want to set hares running but she was the only act not to rehearse today the production teams patience must be running out pretty soon an early eviction and everyones happy.

Do you think she could quit due to her mental state? i backed her at 9s so would be gutted if she did. her Y Tube hits are absolutely dwarfing the other contestants and, as earlier mentioned in the thread, has so many more fans on FB. But in the final would the huge numbers of people who hate her care enough to vote against her opponent just to stop her winning? Despite all the bad press and publicity, the fact so many people still love her is massive and nobody can say she can't win. But as said on the john adeleye thread, he survived ith no internet support so maybe e can't read much into YTube hits and FB. And of course Susan Boyle was an internet sensation on the internet but cudnt even beat a dance act in BGT.

Regarding the youtube hits - youtube now puts the most viewed of each type of video of the day on their homepage - with entertainment being the first catagory - so people just randomly watching youtube and wondering what it is could be inflating her number of views.

I'm out the country at the moment, so it's linked on the global homepage of youtube, not just UK.
