MR BOJANGLES is an abysmal song, but it is one of Cowell's favourite 8 songs of all time so he's probably trying to help John.

CRY ME A RIVER is great for Rebecca.

Henry

I think Mr Bojangles by Sammy davis is just fantastic.  Youtube a live version by him and watch.  Great entertainment.

LOL lou - very good.

if only they were the song choices!
Report Henry VIII October 7, 2010 4:00 PM BST
I was being too dismissive of Mr Bojangles just because it's not the easy melody that XF audiences are used to (and singers other than Sammy D.J. and Nina Simone tend not to sing it well imo).

However if John does it well I'm sure he'll get huge judges' praise. Difficult song.

"With the first live show of The X Factor 2010 kicking off in just under 48 hours now, the rumoured song choices for this week have leaked. With a broad theme of simply ‘Number One Hits’, there’s plenty of variety as the 12 live finalists compete to win your votes!

First up for the boys is Matt Cardle, who will be singing Kelly Rowlands’ ‘When Love Takes Over’. Aiden Grimshaw is singing ‘Mad World’, while Nicolo Festa is performing Lady Gaga’s hit ‘Just Dance’.

For the girls, Cher Lloyd is performing ‘Just Be Good To Me’, Katie will try to complete ‘We Are The Champions’ and Rebecca Ferguson is hoping to win votes with 1988 hit ‘Teardrops’

For the groups and FYD kick things off with ‘Billionaire’. New girl group Belle Amie perform BoB’s ‘Airplanes’ and 1 Direction will be singing Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’.

Finally for the Over 28s, Storm Lee is set to perform ‘We Built This City On Rock On Roll’, Mary Byrne is singing ‘This Is A Man’s World’ and John Adeleye completes the line up with Mariah’s ‘One Sweet Day’."
