So cruel to the Gamu mentalists, to have their hopes raised only to be dashed again when the 4 are known.
I believe the article but I'm not taking nibbles or bites at current prices of the likely ones until there's a leak as to who - it must be known. And if the original 12 leak is true I think the winner's in there, not the extra 4.

It shouldn't stop BF opening the market after Sunday's show, unless they're also mentalists. Just "incomplete market" / "more may be added".

Nah, Sinitta revealed exactly this may happen back in May or June, when Gamu was unknown outside of the immigration department. (At the time it was denied by the machine but, regardless, it was obviously an old plan destined to run).

Elesha's the only one in that group vaguely humanoid but there's nothing interesting about her. Take away the silly camp dancing from Steven and he's actually got a good voice.

Why don't they have a final 24 instead of 12 and vote 2 out each week ? Cut down on all the drama and sob stories in between acts and make it a proper singing comp.

i think this is all about gamu. for whatever reason cheryl is going to choose cher and katie over gamu (rebecca deserves it) - and there will be an outcry that someone as good as gamu isnt in the last 12 whereas storm etc are.
the wildcard idea may have been conceived before but it will increase sympathy for gamu and she can become a contender, as she should be

DJ I will be more than happy if Gamu gets through. I simply want to here her sing.I thing she will make a truly great jazz singer.
but melv taking an objective look this wild card thing looks to be authentic - and the big issue tonight for cheryl will be whether to choose gamu or katie as her third choice. she chooses katie, but gamu gets the wildcard and perhaps the sympathy. all seems realistic. as i said before havent had a penny on her, but i think she is utterly magnificent

Yes, this isn't new - it has been bandied about for ages, possibly as soon as last year's series ended.
I wrote this on another forum on August 24th - "for some reason I thought they were having 32 go to Judges' Houses stage, and then 16 for live finals".
It doesn't really look like it is a "wildcard" in the true sense of the word, just the mentors (SCowell) choosing an extra act for each category.
I was just thinking about how they were going to work it into the first live show. I imagine the extra acts through are known already. Are they just announced at the start of the show and then they have sing live as part of the show, or is there some massive deliberation pantomime and they miss the singing live the first week?
If they were going to sing in the first live show, they'd have to be rehearsing and having their make overs done already, etc.

I can see the point in Rebecca. Scrubs up well, recognisable vocal tone. I missed her. Now price too low. But she has not got the range or sheer class of Gamu. Easy to forget Gamu is an 18 year old.
She will grow in Sophistaion and style as she gets older. I just hope that somehow she gets a singing career going out of this.

OK you reckon they'll just announce the whole lot tonight. I hope so, then we can get a full market going.
I'm not sure about that either as the TV announcements make it sound like the surprise is for the first live show. It's only an extra half an hour anyway (20 mins with ads) so not too much extra time for p0ncing around really, just enough time for extra songs??
also, it might not be 4 wildcards, but one from each category going into a fight off for one wild card.

“But there is a massive surprise in store. On the first live show next Saturday, all 20 of the singers and bands who didn’t make it through will come back on the show.
“And on the night, the four judges will get the chance to choose one act each to include in their category – effectively throwing some of the losers a lifeline to be on the show and ultimately win.
“This is a major shake-up for the show and it’s bound to upset the original 12 acts who were chosen at Judges’ Houses.
“As far as they were concerned the others were out of the running. But now four will be back in the race. The judges know about it now but didn’t at the time when they made their choices. The fur will no doubt fly!”

Yes I wonder if it might be something like that NF - 16 is going to be a bit unwieldy with the current format - double evictions for 4 weeks?
they could have 3 or even just 2 double evictions (AI always starts off with a number of double eliminations) and go into the final which is over 2 nights with 4 or 5 contestants and get rid of a couple on the first night. Last year they had 3 down to 2, but 2nd show was a bit drawn out with just the 2.

She also has 100's of K if not Millions more youtube hits than any of the other wild card hopefuls. Do you really believe Simon and the producers are not behind the visa press leaks. I wouldn't put it past them having a hand in the auto-tune hoo haa too.
