Wonder if they can chose anyone, or has to be from their own cat?
Can't imagine Louis wanting another one ![]() |

Would've thought from their own cat, would be an interesting twist if not though!
Wagner and Diva Fever at 250's suddenly look a very tasty punt, along with nibbles on TreyC and Tom. See any other obvious value on the back of this GB? 24's on A/O Gotta love it |

So cruel to the Gamu mentalists, to have their hopes raised only to be dashed again when the 4 are known.
I believe the article but I'm not taking nibbles or bites at current prices of the likely ones until there's a leak as to who - it must be known. And if the original 12 leak is true I think the winner's in there, not the extra 4. Anyone volunteer to stake out the house? |

It shouldn't stop BF opening the market after Sunday's show, unless they're also mentalists. Just "incomplete market" / "more may be added".

Nah, Sinitta revealed exactly this may happen back in May or June, when Gamu was unknown outside of the immigration department. (At the time it was denied by the machine but, regardless, it was obviously an old plan destined to run). |

Yuli Minguel Steven Hunter Justin Vanderhyde Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho good luck with that Louis Elesha's the only one in that group vaguely humanoid but there's nothing interesting about her. Take away the silly camp dancing from Steven and he's actually got a good voice. |

Why don't they have a final 24 instead of 12 and vote 2 out each week ? Cut down on all the drama and sob stories in between acts and make it a proper singing comp.

John excepted Louis has the most tragic bunch of contestants ever witnessed by this format
|
|
By:
agreed george brush it was like a freak show
i think this is all about gamu. for whatever reason cheryl is going to choose cher and katie over gamu (rebecca deserves it) - and there will be an outcry that someone as good as gamu isnt in the last 12 whereas storm etc are. the wildcard idea may have been conceived before but it will increase sympathy for gamu and she can become a contender, as she should be |
|
By:
Nicki your positive outlook does you great credit.
However research shows that pessimists, negativity heads and other deppressives have a much more accurate view of the world than optimists. Always bet against an optimist. Sorry. With all my admiration from planet Melv. |

DJ I will be more than happy if Gamu gets through. I simply want to here her sing.I thing she will make a truly great jazz singer.

Where is this 24's A/O please?
|
|
By:
but melv taking an objective look this wild card thing looks to be authentic - and the big issue tonight for cheryl will be whether to choose gamu or katie as her third choice. she chooses katie, but gamu gets the wildcard and perhaps the sympathy. all seems realistic. as i said before havent had a penny on her, but i think she is utterly magnificent

how could u market gamut in all fairness;uglier than susan boyle

Yes, this isn't new - it has been bandied about for ages, possibly as soon as last year's series ended.
I wrote this on another forum on August 24th - "for some reason I thought they were having 32 go to Judges' Houses stage, and then 16 for live finals". It doesn't really look like it is a "wildcard" in the true sense of the word, just the mentors (SCowell) choosing an extra act for each category. I was just thinking about how they were going to work it into the first live show. I imagine the extra acts through are known already. Are they just announced at the start of the show and then they have sing live as part of the show, or is there some massive deliberation pantomime and they miss the singing live the first week? If they were going to sing in the first live show, they'd have to be rehearsing and having their make overs done already, etc. |

Yep Nikki. I can see the point in Rebecca. Scrubs up well, recognisable vocal tone. I missed her. Now price too low. But she has not got the range or sheer class of Gamu. Easy to forget Gamu is an 18 year old. She will grow in Sophistaion and style as she gets older. I just hope that somehow she gets a singing career going out of this. BTW I have had a few bob on her. In August. Written off. Come on Matt. |

Other Sunday rag stuff - big article on the Mirror about Cher's family of violent criminals.
relative jailed for 6 yrs after he almost killed a man in an attack, another beat up a woman in the same incident, another hit a man over the head with a metal bar after a booze and drugs binge, another claimed he was Harry Potter when caught drinking and driving. Cher was suspended from school at 14 for fighting. She wants this all out in the open at the start. |

If they were going to sing in the first live show, they'd have to be rehearsing and having their make overs done already, etc. I reckon the wildcard twist will be announced at end of today's show, but not necessarily the wildcards. Two reasons: may not work mixing recorded and live next Saturday; announcing it today but not saying who the four are until next Saturday gives suspense and anticipation (and also announcing it at the start of next Saturday doesn't gain extra viewers). But program makers often do the wrong thing (well Endemol do anyway). |
|
By:
So what do you think Henry? That they'll just appear during the show and sing live?
Mentors always walk on with their acts anyway, and song choices/RO, etc. sometimes gets leaked during afternoon rehearsals. Song choices usually announced on XF official site. |
|
By:
OK you reckon they'll just announce the whole lot tonight. I hope so, then we can get a full market going.
|
|
By:
I'm not sure about that either as the TV announcements make it sound like the surprise is for the first live show. It's only an extra half an hour anyway (20 mins with ads) so not too much extra time for p0ncing around really, just enough time for extra songs??

also, it might not be 4 wildcards, but one from each category going into a fight off for one wild card.

Wording from Star (always been reliable with these things in the past):
3rd October 2010 SNEAKY Simon Cowell will tonight play his cruellest ever X Factor trick. X Factor viewers will see the judges pick their 12 favourite singers and bands for the live shows, which begin next weekend. The panel, including a teary Cheryl Cole, 27, will be seen fighting their emotions as they make the heartbreaking choices in each category. The 20 rejects will be seen walking away in despair having seemingly seen their hopes go up in smoke. But they, and the lucky dozen who get through, are in for a shock. In a sensational stunt on the first live show on Saturday, the acts will be joined by another four new finalists. Each judge – Cheryl, plus Simon Cowell, 50, Louis Walsh, 58, and Dannii Minogue, 38 – will get the chance to choose a “wild card” act for their categories. That means one losing act from each group, seemingly kicked out at the Judges’ Houses stage tonight, will get a second chance. And once they are in, it means they could even go on to win. The wild card surprise is a big new stunt for the ITV show. And producers think it will bring in even more ratings, as well as creating more competition among the acts. A senior show source said: “Simon had been thinking about playing wild cards for a while and this year he decided to do it. “The ‘final’ 12 acts chosen tonight will think they are the only ones slugging it out to win because that’s how it has always been. “But there is a massive surprise in store. On the first live show next Saturday, all 20 of the singers and bands who didn’t make it through will come back on the show. “And on the night, the four judges will get the chance to choose one act each to include in their category – effectively throwing some of the losers a lifeline to be on the show and ultimately win. “This is a major shake-up for the show and it’s bound to upset the original 12 acts who were chosen at Judges’ Houses. “As far as they were concerned the others were out of the running. But now four will be back in the race. The judges know about it now but didn’t at the time when they made their choices. The fur will no doubt fly!” The drama will unfold on Saturday night’s marathon show, hosted by Dermot O’Leary. |

Yes I wonder if it might be something like that NF - 16 is going to be a bit unwieldy with the current format - double evictions for 4 weeks?
|
|
By:
they could have 3 or even just 2 double evictions (AI always starts off with a number of double eliminations) and go into the final which is over 2 nights with 4 or 5 contestants and get rid of a couple on the first night. Last year they had 3 down to 2, but 2nd show was a bit drawn out with just the 2.

ok, so who will be the wildcards
cheryl - gamu danny - tom simon - cant remember louis - one of the freaks - maybe even wagner |
|
By:
Louis Elesha
Cheryl TreyC Simon Husstle (or one of the joke acts like Twem or DF) Dannii Paige or Marlon |

They should put all the wildcards into a group like they have done with all the other individual contestants this year
