Okay, I know this topic shouldnt be under the X Factor heading but I know this is how to best find the forum regulars!!!!![:D]

Right, long story short, every year we have several requests half way through the series about betting on the Apprentice. The fact they are probably a few weeks into the show already stops most High Street Firms from betting on this.

However once it starts we ALL wish we had a small financial interest in the show . . . . so why not???

I have put up a market that will remain active until the first programme. For obvious reasons, and one I will not apologise for, I am betting to just over 2% a runner (135%).
I will try and move this if there is much interest and I can create a 'Book'.

Here is the candidates:-

series6/candidates.shtml

At the bottom of each candidate is a their audition.

Here is my betting:-

This is a fun market with a small 'lay to lose' (initially £100).

Sp0ils had betting at the start of the last series.  They gave up within days, if not hours.  I think the final 2 were known even then.
Report chepster September 29, 2010 1:19 PM BST
Thanks Squares. I will be extra vigilant.

They couldnt possibly be that far in front though. I remember it being amazingly dark during one of the tasks (they had to rush back????) which ended at 6pm. Clocks go back towards end of October IIRC?

My guess would be 2-4 weeks tops. Hence the bigger percentage.
Report squares September 29, 2010 1:20 PM BST
I think it was all filmed a long long time ago, apart from the final show.

Let us know when you work out who the final two are please.

[:D] Thanks Squares

Wiki says it was filmed last Autumn, was due to be screened last Spring but had to be delayed until after the election because of Lord S's involvement.
Report chepster September 29, 2010 1:40 PM BST
Just read that thanks Squares.

This may be the shortest market in history. Its a shame really because I know figgy and few others would have played for fun.

Just read the criticm that Sir Alan got for chosing the winner after working with both finalists for 6 months!!!!

lol Figgy just played!!!!

n1 cheps. A great idea. Though if squares is right the market might not last long :(

Having just looked at the vt's, I like the look of your favourite.
She seems very personable and the self made type that Alan will like.
I also like Alex for his possible comedic potential.
Report chepster September 29, 2010 1:43 PM BST
I have reduced bets to win a pony!!! I will keep it up until it is no longer viable

Although for his kind info I will give squares a free bet (with me) to win a £ton!

No account needed Squares - Just give me your selection

Cheers cheps.

As you say it's just a bit of fun, so I'm happy with the few quid you let me have.

Come on Alex the Maverick! Grin

I knew you would be first in. Cheers 5leaves [:D].

Wiki states: Just a day after the results of the general election were announced, the BBC began advertising for the new series.

Surely this means it cant be done & dusted????
Report squares September 29, 2010 1:53 PM BST
that's the one which will be screened next year, the first one with a different "prize".

That's actually what I was looking for - whether it is this series or next where that changes.
Report squares September 29, 2010 1:56 PM BST
One aspect of the new series he cannot gloss over is that it was filmed late last year and is only just seeing the light of day.

"It was a bit of a mess to be mixed up with all that election stuff," he says, which has placed it firmly in the autumn schedules.
Report Goldie08 September 29, 2010 2:25 PM BST
Chepster, this was filmed absolutely months ago. It was meant to of aired April/May. But BBC had to delay it due to politics etc. (Google it). Not only will the final 12 be known but the winner will be.

Cheers Cheps.  Just let me know where the money is heading, and I'll be right over Grin

Don't post any spoilers!

I know celeb Masterchef was filmed months in advance from the interviews Lisa Faulkner did after winning, but I never saw any spoilers.
Then again I never looked for any Grin

It would such a fun betting vehicle if only they could somehow do the boardroon 'live' each week, when Sir Alan gives someone their marching orders.

Raleigh Addington has quit The Apprentice  after his army captain brother was injured in Afghanistan.

The 23-year-old aspiring businessman was informed by the show's producers that his mother had rung the emergency number shortly before the second task of the series. Addington was then told by his family that his brother Ed had been badly hurt in a Taliban roadside bomb attack.

Speaking about the incident, the economics and politics graduate told The Mirror: "My mind was buzzing with all kinds of emotions. He suffered a collapsed lung, a brain haemorrhage, multiple fractures to both legs and arms as well as other injuries. He's lucky to be alive.

"My immediate reaction on hearing the news was to be with my family so I did not discuss the incident with the other apprentices."

Ed was apparently angry with his brother when he woke up in hospital as he believed that his sibling had been fired by Lord Sugar.

"Raleigh was next to me as I woke up. I was annoyed with him because I thought he'd been fired from the first task," he said. "He knows family comes first, but I truly believe that Lord Sugar lost his best apprentice that day."

Lord Sugar called Addington after he left the show to check that his brother was okay and backed his decision to leave the programme, claiming that it was evidence that "family should come before business".

On tonight's episode of the reality show, Sugar will inform the other contestants that Raleigh has left the competition to attend to an "urgent family matter".

what a farce, this meant to be about business, and you have one girl who turns down an exclusive offer from boots and survives, whilst another girl who looks like a kipper gets the boot for absolutely no reason. terrible terrible advert for business, basically says if you look like a kipper you have no chance
Report GeorgeBrush October 14, 2010 9:39 AM BST
Insulting to kippers imo nick

Do you really think this is a business program?  It's a game show man Blush
