Can't deny she can sing and seemingly from media reports she is liked, but am I the only one that thinks she could be someone difficult to warm too. If she is 16, I hope that isn't a real tattoo on her hand, definite chance of being trailer park and, bad I know, she looks like a goblin.

She really looks like someone (not Cheryl) with the way she smiles and scrunches her face up, but can't put my finger on it.

A bit of Karen Grant (from Brookside) about her too.

Thought there was a lot of sound doctoring going on with that audition.
Report THE HAYEMAKER September 5, 2010 1:42 PM BST
Square, I can't work out who it is she looks like either. Its bugging me.
Report Cider September 5, 2010 2:07 PM BST
She was being ramped on R1 today, seemingly being received as a bit more 'kool' than your usual xf auditionee.

No way I'd consider backing at this stage, smacks of a very well rehearsed audition and she is going to struggle to get wide xf voter appeal imo. A sexed up 16yo! It's a longshot that will know exactly what to do with her, perhaps Camp Rock??

Claiming she wants to be a female Dappy I'm not sure is the smartest of moves either. Although he is a top lad in reality he doesn't have a great public image.

It was interesting to me that it was edited like the crowd received Cher amazingly well, but I can't help thinking that many mums/grans watching would have been saying to themselves that it was too much too young for this kid.

More realistic. I think the mentor's attempts to conform her to the XF standards could be cringeworthy
Report Ashley_Young September 6, 2010 12:54 AM BST
She had a very good song choice, that's all. She couldn't really sing, her dancing and moves were very awkward even to the extent where I genuinely thought she was one of the joke acts at first. The chavs will lap it up because they've found a song they didn't know about but she'll be found out as soon as she has to do something different.

Don't bet on her!
Report GeorgeBrush September 6, 2010 1:10 AM BST
I certainly think she was better than that description AY. She could certainly belt out whatever it was she was attempting

But power ballads look unlikely to be her 'thang'. And the audience of this tends to prefer allrounders
Report acey deucy September 6, 2010 8:31 AM BST

I don't think she looks like Lisa Stansfield.

I'm thinking it's Michelle Keegan, that bird off Corrie, she most closely resembles.

Although she still looks like someone else, esp around the mouth, when she pulls all those faces.  Maybe a comedienne or an impressionist mimicking someone.

THE grand final of Worcester’s biggest singing competition has raised hundreds of pounds for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.

More than 600 people poured into Sin, New Street, on Wednesday night for the final of Text Factor 2010.

The crowd, who supported the 15 contestants with posters and banners and voted for their favourites via text message, raised almost £900 for the breast cancer campaign. In return, they were treated to an up-tempo performance by legendary singer Ray Lewis, former member of the Drifters, who helped out with the judging.

At the end of the evening Ellice Chidlow was crowned winner. The 18-year-old student from Hereford walked away from the X Factor-style contest with £2,500 in prize money, while runner up Cher Lloyd received £1,000.

Miss Chidlow said: “The competiton was an amazing experience and I loved every second of it.

“I was competing with some really amazing singers and I just couldn’t believe it when they called out my name.”

True, but he was patently identifiable as a koont even then. Cher more likely to fall into the Vickers trap imo
Report melv September 6, 2010 7:44 PM BST
Vickers is, and was always a star. Cher will have to follow this up; time after time time. Has she the staying power? Lets she. I for one do not see this one performance as evdence of improvability and increasing likability. I hope Gamus price drifts way out.
Report GeorgeBrush September 6, 2010 8:09 PM BST
Oh yep melv, my point was merely that the Vickers style was equally hard to adapt to the format; she was far more talented (from what I can tell)

Initially impressive but won't stay the distance.  To win this you have to belt out the ballads and hit the top notes. She's a one note pony. That said I think she could be a big star but she'd have been better off being groomed by some record company and then launched on public.

Bottom line is she doesn't need X Factor.

Lay.

I think she's the most current contestant this year. I can see her winning, and doing tracks with some American hip hop artist rapping on it.

I wasn't too impressed with her last night and neither was Cowell. I'm sure he sees her as a female Justin Bieber, and he's going to do everything he can for her to win. I don't think there's a gap in the market for the likes of Matt Cardle, etc.

N1 Cher, and LOL at oh-so-desperate Katie.

X Factor hopeful Cher Lloyd has blasted the press for writing rubbish stories about her.

The 17-year-old singer, who is being mentored by Cheryl Cole on the ITV1 show, criticised the newspapers during a press day at ITV studios this morning.

Speaking to Daybreak, Lloyd said: "Who wants to read the papers? They are full of rubbish."

According to Sunday Mirror showbiz reporter Dean Piper, she made a bad impression on journalists. Writing on Twitter, he said: "Cher Lloyd's opening line at the press chats earlier was, 'I hate the press'. Great start for her. Not!"

However, Lloyd's show rival Katie Waissel said that she was happy to spend the morning with journalists. "We're all only human so it's cool," she said. "We're just really excited to have this opportunity and share with everybody how excited we are about this upcoming show."

Waissel added: "It's really a whirlwind. And I'm super-focused about this upcoming show. I just can't wait to show the public and voters that we all deserve to be here. To be up on stage doing what we are all so passionate about is really exciting."
