After thumping the champions and following on to win the group in style, then coming back from a goal down against tough mexican oppsition in the sweltering heat during the hottest part of the day.  They are still not fully respected in the outright betting.  There are flaws against all the rest of the competitors  including the hosts.  Many teams are under performing in my opinion and the dutch meanwhile have answered every question given to them.  They have played some of the best football I have seen in this tournament, scored great goals in the process.  They have always had great players over time but haven't managed to win the most important tournament of all.  They were written off pre-tournament and will always remain the value, even now they are great value at 6.2

Maybe this is their time to finally win.

Think your post needs looking at so lets try again !

After thumping the champions who many had thought were past their best they went on to struggle against a very modest Aussie outfit but finished up beating a talented Chile side comfortably, then coming back from a goal down against a tough Mexican team that drew with Brazil in the sweltering heat during the hottest part of the day they scraped hope with 2 late goals.  They are probably the form team on the basis of their defeats of Chile & Mexico and the outright betting is probably a shade generous baring in mind they have a virtual bye against Costa Rica in the last 8.  There are flaws against all the rest of the competitors on current evidence apart from Columbia.  Many teams are under performing in my opinion and the Dutch meanwhile have answered most questions given to them.  They have played some of the best football I have seen in this tournament and scored some great goals in the process.  They have always had great players over time but haven't managed to win the most important tournament of all.  They were written off pre-tournament and will always remain the value, even now they are great value at 6.4

Maybe this is their time to finally win but the one negative being on the four occasions the world cup has been in South America it was won by a South American team.

A reply to you personally.

Some thought spain were past their best, many tipped them,
Holland didn't scrape through against mexico, they shown courage and character and got the job done in 90 minutes.
At the time of writing, they were available at 6.2 not 6.4
Finally, just because other SA competitions have resulted in a SA team to win does not mean the same will happen again, I agree it is quite likely. But, following these trends is not the be all and end all.  Trends DO get busted.

All the best, take care son

There price seems about right now, I think its more a case of Brazil and Argentina being over rated, neither has impressed.

The issue is the Dutch have not yet had the obligatory poor game  - Brazil and Argentina have not impressed but have had their so called bad games - best hope the Dutch have their bad one against the Rico but still progress.

I'm on as I do think they are the best I have seen so far - Robben is a big girls blouse when it comes to diving but when he runs at defenders he scares them rigid, back that up with Van Persie and they are formidable in attack, admittedly Persie had a stinker last time.

robben will be yellow
carded
the first time he drops
to the ground when he could have stayed
on his feet
he embarrassed the ref
refs don't forget

The dutch will sorely miss Nigel de Jong who has been their best player in the 4 games, Robben aside. He sit in front the back 5 and protects any space between them and the midfield. There is no direct replacement for him, and playing their 5-3-2 will be compromised. If they go behind against a really good team, their standard switch to 4-3-3 will be too dangerous as they do not possess the defensive players to carry this out. Keeping possession is also not as good as required.

I am not saying that they cannot win it, but how good have they really been? A freak 2nd half against Spain ( in that game they should have been at least 3-0 down before Van Persie scored), lucky to beat the Aussies, beat Chile in a dead rubber last 10 minutes, outplayed by Mexico until they went 4-3-3 and scored 2 in the last 5 minutes.

They are plaing result football which has been successful upto now and maybe they can carry it on and lift the trophy. However, I do not think they will.

the Dutch can f(_)ck off with their boring football. I used to like the Dutch, enjoyed watching them, and always hoped they would win the WC one day. But ever since their disgusting performance in the final 4 years ago, I've lost all respect for them.

HOLLAND definitely have an excellent chance of reaching the final.
The COSTA RICA bubble is surely about to burst and I haven't been
impressed with ARGENTINA (how long can Messi keep carrying them in this tournament?).
BELGIUM are the problem in this side of the draw but can they really win it? NO.
They've already done well but huffed and puffed to get this far, imo.

Can't see BRAZIL not getting to the final.... Home support, terrified refs, etc.
Should beat COLOMBIA without too much fuss and FRANCE or GERMANY seem to
have bullied their way through to this stage imo.

BRAZIL v HOLLAND final.... Happy

robben with his diving
takes a lot away from wanting
to like the Dutch
or take them seriously

"BELGIUM are the problem in this side of the draw but can they really win it? NO. "...

of course belgium can beat Holland.. why cant they

Holland are so dependent on Robben and Van Persie

Belgium have a much better balanced side.. and a far better defence and midfield, and are not soley reliant on 1 player like the Dutch are

As long as Brazil qualify tonight, the Dutch will not be winning the World Cup.
Brazil or Germany is a losing encounter for the Dutch (if they should manage to reach the final).
Report Thunderbird 1 July 4, 2014 11:41 PM BST
Holland looked comfortable the whole of the mexico game, even at 80mins they were calm and collected you could feel the goal coming. Robben, VP, Schneider, Kujt, Huntelar etc  and even Depay all looking strong.

The Dutch actually look like they want this, Gaal definitely wants this. Their determination has brought them back from behind twice and to me they look convincing.

Should brush Costa aside in 90mins, Should brush Argentina/Belg aside who will finish in their rightful places.

100% they will be at the final, I hope they win but I will be laying off 15/1 for a free show.

Good luck mugs.
