I backed Iniesta for Man of the Match at my local independant bookies only to be told they followed the ITV man of the match. Is this common practice as Id thought I was betting on official FIFA man of match.
You probably would have been with most bookies. Unless they're saying that to avoid a payout it sounds like you've been unlucky (or learnt an expensive lesson; always check what you're betting on). Some bookies might have gone with their general rules that say Man of the Match betting will be based on the broadcaster's selection and not bothered varying it for the World Cup. ITV's is based on website votes, the same as FIFA's, so you're doubly unlucky if they've not gone for the same player.
