Had the pros gagging with trousers round knees but I found it as dull as... bar about 10 minutes before the goal. Can't understand why Germans didn't have a right go as they did against Eng/Arg. Come on you Oranje!!
Alan Green and Mark Lawrenson didn't "get it" and neither does the original poster here either.
Green wanted it to be "faster" whilst Lawrenson seemed to want Spain just to throw aimless balls into the box and hope that something happened. I think a team with 50 victories in their last 54 games (or something like that) will know what they are doing.
So the pundits who were all so wise after England went out (but not before) reverted to type and wanted Spain v Germany to start impersonating Everton v Wolves.
And there you have it in a nutshell.
Patience. We don't have it. The ball is a hot potato to be got rid of before you commit the ultimate sin of being caught in possession. Pass the buck by launching it so someone can fight for it in a 50/50.

Lawrenson's comments were beyond belief and Hanson and HT wasn't much better.
All this 'always looking for one pass too many' is simply short sighted.
Spain have averaged 17 shots per game in this World Cup, more than any other team.
Spain are a joy to watch and last night was one of the most fascinating games of the tournament

Germany were way out of their depth, English people need to get this 'have a right go' idea out of their heads if they want to produce cerebral and technichally gifted footballers. Germany didn't beat England or Argentina by getting in their faces they simply outplayed them by moving the ball quickly

Spot on Baracouda - Lawrenson is a 2 faced nonce - he sings from a very different hymn sheet when he makes he contributions to the Irish media - basically says what he thinks the audience wants h im to hear..
