I placed an E/W bet on Vittek to be top goalscorer after Slovakia were knocked out of the competition. However, I just read on FIFA that they split ties with assists. Does this mean he is currently outside of the top 3 places as he has no assists? Also, if Mueller gets another goal and Villa doesn't score or get any assists would Mueller win the Top Goalscorer or would it be a tie with a win reduction? I assume it is a win reduction but all these sites will presumably settle from the Fifa website.

"Since 1994, if there is more than one player with the same amount of goals, the tie-breaker goes to the player who has contributed the most assists (with the FIFA Technical Study Group deciding whether an assist is to be counted as such). If there is still more than one player, the tie-breaker goes to the player who has played the least amount of time."

Most bookmaker Top Goalscorer markets are for just that - ie Top Goalscorer and NOT Golden Boot

Thanks for the informative reply. I was understandably worried but stand corrected.
i tried to tell you but you were rude -don't be so quick to reply in future
it seemed pretty succisnt and clear to me --even if you were not convinced it would be good advise to not be rude to people trying to help you if you wish to ask questions
and anyway the words 'Is' for top goalscorer and 'not' assists seem pretty clear to me
