why are the multiple odds on world cup quarter finals shorter than single odds ?

all multiple odds are shorter. I think its because betfair take multiple bets not in an exchange but not sure.

commission is taken off at each stage of the multiple bet

Multiple odds are complete garbage here due to mugs who are happy backing them anyway.

Simple as that, really.
