I hope not as he has given me some of the funniest moments in this dour world cup!! A shambles of a defender on 160K a week, has looked out of his depth here, if Capello goes will he still feature in future games ??? :0

I hope so, and if Chelsea want to win the league again this season I'll be surprised if Terry makes the first X1.  His legs have gone as Gareth Bale demonstrated at the end of last season.

He will be put out to stud, to create future defenders for England!

Yeah, all Terry's fault Love

Disagree, its not terys fault that England underperformed at the world Cup but he's symptomatic of the current malaise thats affecting the team.
I think i said to you before the world cup that he'd be a liability in the england team up against players with a bit of pace and ingenuity and unfortunately he didn't let me down.

His limitations are there for all to see and without a quality partner at centre half he will continue to be exposed, its not his fault but his legs are betraying him and his positional sense just doesnt allow for him to mask this issue.

I'll be suprised to see him play for England again and as for chelsea he may get away with it in the premiership against lesser teams but he'll continue to be exploited by those that dont fall ino category, especially in the champions league.

If what I hear is true, with regards to what will be hitting our news-stands in the next 2 weeks, then he has had more to do with Englands demise than merely his shambolic defending. He is seemingly more interested in the captaincy than being part of a winning team, to the point where his influence caused a huge rift in the camp. Couple that with an inability to see that the alleged misdemeanours of his replacement are nothing like as potentially damaging to team morale than his own and you have a man who, rather than being 'born to do this', should never pull on an armband at any level again. He has as little idea of how a leader should behave, as he does of defending at a high level.

If it is the end, he leaves knowing he was the best captain of recent times, only sacked for nailing a single bird...

Since being stripped of the armband its all been downhill for England
Report Desmond Orchard July 1, 2010 7:12 PM BST
A single bird, who happened to be a team-mates Missus, destroying team morale and the trust of his fellow players in him...... The ridiculous thing is that Terry himself can't see the distinction. Nailing a team-mates Missus makes him tw4t - it's a line that shouldn't be crossed - and unsuitable for a leadership role, failing to understand this makes him a cnut of the highest order.

you'd imagine absolutely no chance of him ever being picked again while capello is the manager

John Terrys "i was born to do this " statement is just another illustration of how much air he has between his ears and why he's just a bit simple.
Wasn't that long ago that an unborn child was prevented from seeing the light of day due to his dispicable behaviour.

Got this info tonight from a senior source within a leading paper, make your own mind up..may not be breaking news as some of this has been touted about over the last few mths regarding Gerrard.

Courts have upheld a further 2 week gagging order on Steven Gerrard’s private life. It turns out that he has got his sisters  old sister pregnant (Not a 16yr old). This will hit the newspapers in 14days time.
The Judge held the gagging order to protect the FA  while they decide on Capello’s future and the future of the England team and its foundations. John Terry and the England team all know about this and that JT had an argument with Capello because Gerrard got to keep the armband.
The tensions in the camp was down to JT, half the squad backed him saying SG was a disgrace the others backed Gerrard. The press conference was related to the tension and that JT wanted SG exposed, apparently the tension in the camp was over boiling point as Terry and Gerrard hated each other.
One other point is that Rooney shagged a prostitute when he was away and this will be out in Sunday’s paper.

May or may not turn out to be true but it is not surprising from a bunch of over paid low lifes.

Look what Terry did to Bridge was beyond the pale, but his shortcomings against Germany were'nt all his own doing. The midfield was shambolic, Barry was deceptive he was slower than he looked, we had no shape and the Germans were allowed get at our our centre halfs unchallenged.

The manager should take the brunt of the blame for Englands downfall, if team spirit was poor he should have sacked off Terry, he didn't, the shape of the team was all wrong an antiquated 4-4-2, do any of our players play that system? I think not.

The book stops at the manager, he should be sacked. As for whole sale changes i am unsure we have anyone better, but here goes.

A 4-2-3-1.
Defence:Hart, A Cole, G Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka,
Holding midfield: Rodwell, Carrick,
Midfield: J Cole, S Gerrard, A Young,
Forward: Rooney.

There may be better players for the system, have a go yourself, but it's definately the way we should play.

You have to laugh at some of the tosh posted on this forum.
Terry has just captained his club to the double, which is no mean feat.
Against Slovenia the Gooner and Mancs I was watching the match with said he was probably man of the match, never put a foot wrong.I think the forumites suffer from memory loss!
He had to do his best with a guy that under no stretch of the imagination is a right back and a fellow centre back who was all over the show.
When playing with Rio,note, one goes forward ,whilst the other always stays back, which is usual for centre backs to do.
There was a total lack of organisation in ALL positions on the pitch, bad management ,and bad captaincy, total lack of understanding and leadership.
The opposition was running through our midfield at will, leaving the defense totally exposed on too many occasions.
We can all see there were serious problems on the pitch, but wanting to put Terry on the scrapheap is nonsense.

didnt stop  gerrard getting in the side did it as captain?

joe hart

kelly (scouser)
dawson
rio
a cole

hargreaves
huddlestone
carrick
milner
cole

rooney

and for fks sake dont have a massive gap between midfield and the forwards...

what some of you mongs on here dont get is that a holding midfielder(s) DOESNT have to just sit 5 yards in front of the defense or stay in their own half.. hasnt watching spain or holland or brazil taught you ANYTHING.. they have holding or defensive midfielders but these players also bomb forward or get forward (maybe not beyond the last man but forward) when the team are on the front foot..

it enables you to get more of your men in the areas to hurt the other team and gives you options.. thats the great secret of spain and aregntina and brazil etc in this world cup same as the other good teams.. they defend as a team and go forward as a team..

watch them all and see how many times they are left with one midfielder against two or three oppostion players whther going forward or in defending.. thats why they always seem to outnumber teams goign forward or backward.. prob for england is that [players such as lampard and  gerrard want to do one thing.. go forward. and neither can do what players like alonso or messi or gilberto  or schweinsteiger can do.. just dictate play. keep it simple and short unless a long ball is screaming out to them with a man in space. i guarantee that if you think about it you will think of more times lampard and gerrard played huge long balls straight out of play more than you could remember them doing hard work and tackling and breaking play  up.

its not that our players cant do it. they choose not to want to imo. and as they havent proved this in the last three tournaments they all have to go.

johnson can stay if he becomes the attacker he is at liverpool or else get some young lad in
terry- too slow and out same as carragher and upson

barry lampard and gerrard.. too slow, ineffective time and time again.. incapable of possession football or creating anything. out

rooney has one more chance especially if the mong has been playin about.. he looked pre occupied and it may prove to be correct..

heskey out..

one of the most illuminating and sensible posts that i've ever read on this forum. The only time i have ever seen one of them play a decisive pass,it has invariably been to the opposition and leads to them scoring, take a bow steven gerrard.

There would be a modicum of sense in your rant morrissey if you hadn't forgotten the simple fact that the midfielders you were so quick to run down didn't have a WORLD CLASS STRIKER to pass to .Rooney was totally off his game and the others, well, they were just others.
If you want to analyse the situation in depth look at everything ,not just the players you happen not to like.
There was no organisation on the field whatsoever.Very poor captaincy.

The Germans have England completely sussed. Klose said after about 6mins of match they realised England did not play 'as a team'. This has been elaborated on since by another of their players who said England have too many alpha males in side, and Terry wants to be the greyback.
Report alexmillwall July 2, 2010 9:53 AM BST
wasnt terry MoM 1st game? everyone praised him, some people are pathetic. yes he needs a fast partner but rio/king need a machine like terry to do the dirtywork..

problem against germany was barry got sucked fwd too much leaving a hole in the middle, no defence can cope with 4 decent players running at them, and we didnt have enough pace in atk. lennon should have played and dropped lampard or gerrard or defoe. all good players but leaves the team a bit stale when they all play together

first goal came from tery misjudging the goal kick, nothing to do with the attack.
third goal came from terry being to far up front and leaving ashley cole on the half way line, with terrys lack of pace he wa never ging to get back.

still think he wasn't at fault ?

When are people going to get the fact that Terry is just not that good.

He has played his career next to top class defenders who have dug him out of the sh1t.

He has relied on last ditch tackles/headers because his positional play, reading of the game and complete lack of pace get him in to the situations.

Compare that to Ferdinand, he's not the quickest, but he is always there as he sees the danger so quickly.

This is the problem with England fans mentality's, they want to see all-action crunching tackles, goal line clearances, 60 yard "Gerrard" Hollywood balls, Lumplard smashing freekicks and shots from 40 yards, and it is just wrong.

English fans have entirely the wrong idea of how football should be played.
