Sums up the state of world football when such a turgid Brazil side are lauded and considered most likely WC winners. FIFA need to step in to save the beautiful game. Change pts system so teams earn more pts for goals scored, and stop the time-wasting antics such as when teams go and hold the ball by the corner flag to countdown clock - and I say this as an England fan and disgusted by that nonsense of ours at end of last group game.

I think they look very solid and are going to be hard to beat.

Ok they don't have the flair you would normally expect from a Brazilian team but which of the teams left in the competition has the players to get at them and keep it tight at the other end?

they rested 3-4 first choice players, and still never lost, as you saw last night, Chile will be missing 3-4 first choice players for the game against Brazil, who incidentally beat them twice in qualifying, how manyother teams can rest that many good players? they will win this cup in a hack canter.

Interesting you chose 1990 as your year zero. That was when
Brazil first adopted the defensive counter attacking tactics which has since served them so well
3 finals & 2 wins is good going but this year with no Romario,
ROnald(inh)o nor Rivaldo, there was a lot of expectation heaped on an out of  form Kaka

On a personal note it was most gratifying to see Robinho dumped out.
Clearly taking the michael out of Real Madrid & Man City so he could play himself into some sort of shape for South Africa didnt have the desired outcoum
