That is what i am beginning to think, apart from brazil, germany maybe argentina and a few of the so called minnows i get the feeling that a lot of these so called superstars see this tournament as an intrusion on their holiday time. Is it just a gravy train for all the international commitees to have a 4 week hol all expenses paid. I reckon if you asked 75% of the players for an honest answer they would tell you that club football is far and away the be all and end all and this is just a jumped up bun fight, from what ive seen most of the players look like they just dont want to be there.

I think you're right about some of the players attitude, but globally the World Cup is massive and means a lot to some of the countries that take part.

I know this will never happen but would'nt it be great if the premiership fell apart, the foreign owners walked away and our so called superstars could only earn big money through the sponsorships they would earn by doing well for England.

Only a dream but far better than the pathetic way that some players and fans view club as more important than country.

Why not be a transfer market. Breaking News Gyan signs for France in exchange for irregation system. Rooney signs for Cayman Islands in exchange for 100 jobs created in Bootle Call Centre. Messi signs for CSKA in exchange for a drilling rig, a brace of Migs  and ten boxes of AKs

Now that England are out I'm sure many English would agree.  Had they reached this stage and you asked the same question, the same people would be outraged ;-)

The World Cup is still the greatest football show on earth.  We Scots/N.Irish/Welsh always love it and take it with the knowledge that although we aint good enough ourselves it is still a pleasure to watch the best do what they do well.
Once the English realise that they too are only bit part players you too will enjoy the spectacle. ;-)

Convenient given Englands shitiness that it doesn't matter, the foreigners ye all idolise for your club sides couldn't give a **** about ye. The prem would be a pub league without it's foreign stars, it only became watchable from about the time Zola arrived

Cry England out so back to the foreign owned and foreign player dominent premier league.

Enjoy it while it lasts before the big clubs go bust and you are kneeing down to the Bundesliga, a trully fans league.
