0-1,usa at 6/1 are way to big ,we will struggle - draw at best

we have never, ever drawn with USA, but anything is possible in football

I think England will do it, but I'm not putting my faith in them at 1/2 on that's for sure. I'll just be watching and "enjoying" this one with a beer and not thinking about betting on this one unless I see any eye catching prices on other things about it until now and then. Good luck all!

USA played in the Confederations Cup at this same stadium 1+ years ago where they ended Spains record unbeaten run.

In the final they were 2-0 up against Brazil before losing 3-2

They are fit and used to playing in this stadium and at this altitude.

England meanwhile have numerous players carrying suspect injuries and have failed to do proper altitude training (thats the reason why they were so poor against Japan in Austria) and looking very laboured.

They have serious weaknesses in central defense Terry is too slow (Ferdinand out) whilst Lescott is sub standard leaving dodgy kneeed King who used to be a really good player as his likely partner IF fit (remember King was a washed up footballer a year ago unlikely to ever play again). This means some idiot like Carragher will play alongside Terry or a very inexperienced also ran.

Meanwhile the best goalie they have is third choice and uncapped and will definitely not play.

My conclusion therefore is that England will concede goals, lack altitude adjustment not to mention have players creaking from a hard tough Eng Prem season. (Barry is injured, Rooney is carrying a suspect groin and ankle injury to name all but 2 of the five injured palyers) and just will not last 90 minutes.

So despite being a better side than USA, England are very likely to lose this match and in no way justify being such short favourites for the group and match.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE surrounding this mediocrity in The Engalnd camp they were better last time around four years ago and they are certainly nowhere near as good this time round.

The best squad memeber they have is Capello

Anyone fancy putting the case for an England Victory?

I know the game is not played on paper but realistically England have better players all over the pitch and should win.  In fairness how many of the USA squad would make it into England's squad, not alone the team?  I agree that Ferdinand will be a loss as the central defence lacks pace but Altidore and Dempsey are hardly Torres and Villa.  Yes the Americans will work hard and are extremely fit and do have some decent players but England should have too much class.

It's time the likes of Gerrard and Lampard did it on the big stage and whilst England are probably a tad short they should start as short priced favs for this game, perhaps 4/6 or 8/13 being a slightly more reflective price.

I'm on England in a double with the argies and like Marmaduke will be backing England to win 2-1 and 3-1.

the bare facts are england have vastly superior players\to usa, probably like comparing premiership team to average championship team.as we know championship teams\can overcome that gap in class in a\one off game but that class\gap is\realistic.hopefully england will produce a par or above performance(not a\given thing in the past) if this is the case then they should win reasonably comfortably.there can be no excuse as pretty much all the shoo in players for england are available bar ferdinand.heres hoping

If it goes 1-1 it will stay 1-1 as no
team will have the courage to gamble on graping a second.
