Seriously. This will be a 1 1 draw and England will win other games 2 1 and 3 0.

USA are no mugs and they will be up for it Saturday.

As a neautral I reckon England will win this. They may not stuff the yank, but its 3 points that matter at this stage.

emm, Yanks will be right up for this game and as others have said a draw or even a loss could happen if Yanks were to score first.
Report Decky June 9, 2010 9:58 PM BST
Rueben,

Why give you evens when I can lay in the market at nearly half that. You will get evens im sure in play.[;)]

1-1 for me too.  Then 3-0 then 1-1 then home.

^ those results would see England into the 2nd round unless both USA & Slovenia beat Algeria by more than 3 goals, which is unlikely IMO

ridiculous odds 2 many mo rons out there that are clueless overhype this.id go england 5/6
Report morrissey June 9, 2010 11:34 PM BST
i see this is a thread mostly for mugs..

seriously lads give me 3 half decent reasons that you REALLY think that england wont beat these?

and please.. DONT tell me they beat spain in the confederations cup.. its a blown up friendly

so carry on and for the record england are abotu the right price imo as they SHOULD be big favs imo but good luck.. one mans value is another mans poor or great price..

just interested in ppls actual reasons..

Oh the irony!
Report morrissey June 9, 2010 11:38 PM BST
and for the record men i actually think that if these two teams played ten competitive games on neutral soil.. england would win between 6-7 with a couple of draws and maybe one win for the us...
Report morrissey June 9, 2010 11:39 PM BST
why is it irony? the difference is that i can usuaLLY back what i say up with stats and % chances and try and find odds i like etc not always right int he same way i dont always win obv..

i just find it funny when yuo see ppl giving it large with nothing to really back it up with other than.. england have NO CHANCE (possibly the stupidest statement on here as it goes)
Report Bati Gol June 9, 2010 11:40 PM BST
spain played as good a side as they have in world cup playing in that tournament so get your facts straight.go and take a look
Report morrissey June 9, 2010 11:43 PM BST
so what its still a friendly

same as morons who write france off based on appalling friendly form.. it means NOTHING

you should be writing france off for other reasons :)
Report db1974 June 9, 2010 11:46 PM BST
The irony is that you reply to a thread which you think is for mugs

Nonetheless, I think England are a bit short at 1/2. The most important thing for England is to not lose on Saturday because then the final group game against Slovenia could end up being a winner-takes-all scenario and Capello won't really want that.

Favourites certainly but 4/6 or maybe 8/13 would be about right IMO.
Report Bati Gol June 9, 2010 11:49 PM BST
not a friendly its a competition and they took it very serious just like brazil did.so why dont u write off the euros, african nations and copa america aswell.i wouldnt fancy france your right unless they find some form from 4years ago but no zidane to call on now whos one of greatest ever.england of course has chance to win any game but ratings of many very average players and overhyped odds is ridiculous.toughest game for england is sat and 1/2 is stupid win or lose
Report morrissey June 9, 2010 11:49 PM BST
well i did say between 6-7!! give me some credit and yuo DO have to take into account other aspects as well imo

the US are a decent workmanlike side.. who have been waiting on jozey altidore.. im sorry if yuo have seen him play you have to ask why.

like i said i think between 60-66% chance for england to win this.. i think fabio will want to win the first two games so he can rest the players for the last game if possible..  just my opinion
Report morrissey June 9, 2010 11:51 PM BST
please dont compare the euros and copa america etc with the confederations cup. its a trophy but not A trophy. the players dont really care, from the main teams who play it a lot tend to try players who dont normally play- not all btu a lot do- etc etc etc

so dont read too much into a result in a basic friendly from whenever as your basis or ill tell you england cant lose against germany because we smashed them in one the other year and got a 2-2 draw with holland as well away with a shadow team on the pitch etc etc etc
Report Bati Gol June 9, 2010 11:55 PM BST
spain and brazil took it seriously so your point doesnt hold check the starting teams 4 yourself
Report morrissey June 9, 2010 11:56 PM BST
ahhh right you know this do you? lol of course you do..

its a friendly tournament..most players and especially the managers dont want it.. the players ant a summer off unless its a proper comp..

but you keep deluding yourself it means something like a proper big tournament..
Report Bati Gol June 9, 2010 11:58 PM BST
your talking bull****
Report morrissey June 10, 2010 12:01 AM BST
of course i am because i dont agree with you and because i dont think you should really put much stock into non competitve games..  my opinion as it goes..

good luck in whatever you do

if england were evens, frankly i'd sell everything to my name and get involved on that. there is NO chance what so ever england aren't going to win on saturday. the most passionate country in the entire tournament will be out to send a message to all the other countries. quite frankly im pretty sure unquoted is nailed on, 6-0 england.

like ive said on numerous threads you NEVER respond to without being stupid..

tell ue all why you think england have no chance whereas other countries no doubt bigger in price do..

and if you SERIOUSLY think england wont win any of the group games, which ones you think they will win and if so.. why the fk are you laying them in every game in the match odds/to qualify markets...

Hindsight is a great thing, but still some way off the mark comments on this thread.
Report morrissey June 16, 2010 7:51 AM BST
you are right.. england at evens was a stupid comment to make and now the dust has cleared and the game can be looked at correctly.. whether as a winner or loser or emotionally attched or not as an english fan

england were comfortably the better side especially the second half. robert green had one real save to make other than that howler. whereas england looked dangerous more than a few times first and secondhalf..

not a great performance but again id still have england winning this game 6-7 times out of ten.. and the odds were about right based on that
