When you look down the fellas picked to go out there what is very striking is how many have had either easy seasons or a pretty easy time of it in the last couple of months.
They may not be good enough but there are no excuses on the basis of exhaustion and unlikely to be any on the grounds of the climate.

Agreed. 5 genuine world class players in that squad. That's as many as the best squads and more than the majority. The key is Rooney up front with Joe Cole in the hole just behind him imo.

Lets hope so. I see that as England's best chance also. My genuine fear is that he will still find a way to shoe horn Heskey in there somewhere.

My fear is Rooney will spend too much time in midfield looking for the ball. He hurts teams in the final third.

 That might had been the case a couple of years ago but Rooney and cashley are the only two at the moment. |

Rooney is the 1 worldclass player in squad.
A Coles is borderline, Gerrard and Ferdinand arguably were once but have both probabaly had ther worst seasons for years. Terry is ordinary but gives 100% so 5 worldclass players you must be joking! |

Rooney is the only world class player England have, the rest mentioned are simply overrated by the English media. Lampard! even Muriniho could't get a CL with Chelsea and all their money with that liability in midfield.
