I'm English through and through, and my heart yearns for a decent run in the World Cup 2010, but my head tells me it won't happen.
Some points one needs to bring home are:
1) We never qualified for the Euro's. Is our turnaround against inferior group opposition really worth the paper it's written on?
2) Why have England been seeded so high? There are other nations who have out performed us on the World stage ranked lower.
3) Our price to win is over-hyped. Do the same odds compilers who make Murray, Wimbledon favourite price up England to win the WC? ...me thinks so ;-)
