Yeah she's destroying the SUPER G Competition:

2010 Alpine Skiing World Cup - SUPER G

1. Lindsey Vonn 440
2. Fabienne Suter 220
3. Andrea Fischbacher 217
4. Elisabeth Görgl 194
5. Nadia Styger 181

Standings after 5 of 7 races.

Interesting to see how Mancuso does in this, starting 1st. She's been the story of the games for womens skiing so far. She should post a good yardstick.
There's probably only 5 that I'm looking at in this for Gold, and they all go in a bunch of 5 from 16-21
I don't think Vonn represents value at 2.0, she's been beaten a few times over Super G this year, downhill she was almost unbeatable, but not so in this event. I would make her favourite for gold, but wouldn't want to take anything sub 3.0

Julia Mancuso 18/1 Betfair as we speak, is the bet of the Olympics for me. How someone can want to lay this price, beats me and could leave the layers with a chocking loss at the end of the day.

Vonn got a small injury (another one) after the Combined Slalom where she fell. She has never been this short priced before in the Super G the whole season, but that does not stop her fans to storm to Betfair and try to get her under 2,00 (Many bookies got around this price and it is not hard to see why)

Why Mancuso?

Forget about Mancuso between last Olympics and one day ahead of the Vancouver 2010 Downhill for Women. Look at these facts:

Was a CLEAR 2nd to Vonn in the downhill. Vonn is not as near as superior in the Super G as the downhill.
Mancuso was 3rd in the Combined Downhill, despite a few rather big mistakes.
Mancuso got startnumber 1 today, a clear track and more importantly, the track will hold up for her. Yesterday Bode Miller took silver from a early startnumber, the other Yank took bronze from a very early startnumber. Bode did not ski perfect at all, he could have been 0,80 sec faster if a perfect run.

Can Mancuso turn, because the Super G is still a lot of speed but also turns........

She is the current Olympic Champion in Giant Slalom. She can turn.

But Super G, is that really her thing?
A woman who has won 2 silver so far this Olympic, performing 2 sec better than 1 month ago in a slalom run. She was the 3rd fastest in the Combined Super G in St Moritz, despite the fact she did not nail it at all.

With the possibility that it will be a rather big advantage to start early, Mancuso with bid number 1 and already performing way better than she could have hoped for, has got nothing to lose and will go for gold.

With a perfect run she has got a great chance of doing that and I would be surprised if the traders who want to lay prices in running, could not pick up a superb profit after her run (unless she skies out).

Most bookied are 10,00 or under and in my book, she is the clear 2nd fav here. Remember, almost all yanks, overperform and produce better at the Olympics.

Good luck if you follow.

Rhino - Try your luck with those fantasy prices elsewhere lol. Noone will match that, but good luck trying.

But if you want to offer me something, offer me 25 on Mancuso and give me £5000 to bet :)

Haha i thought this was the whole idea, Like on the Advert ;)
Marie Marchand-Arvier is a big outsider to be fair, I'll leave them a bit longer.

Mancuso has only ever won 1 world cup event at Super G, although saying that, she got the gold in G Slalom without winning a world cup event.
I think if she runs like she did the last couple of days she has a great chance of grabbing a medal, but I can't see nobody beating her time coming from the #1 position. I don't think 18.0 is a good price for her to get gold

Funny how the BBC never mentioned Amy Williams 3-4 days ago now they can't stop showing her off like if they was already backing her all along. No mention of Rudman anywhere now unlike before.

i guess the other girls will know about that turn now and be prepared for it. disadvantage of going early i suppose

A top 20 finish for Chemmy would be a nice result, she's done well so far.

shows how beatable these earlier times will be for the top girls. She practically stopped and cruised down the bottom and was less than 4 seconds off

seems to me like the conditions are rapidly getting rougher and tougher - mancuso gr8 bet for place and maybe win imo
By:
