I was looking for about 4-6 or 4-7 White but never realistic to expect any generosity shown. Halfpipe and boardercross the 2 most spectator-friendly events imo. Skicross should be fun too.

He he tried a few new things, still think hes almost certain gunna win it, but risking £100 for £13 profit aint worth it whatsoever
best run counts and 45.8 in his first run was more than enough to qualify 1st
Shaun White now 1.21, if ever a time to back it's now
seeing as everyone else seems to be falling over he looks a safe bet!

Yeah, a few people are starting to look better, namely the japs, can't see white being toppled over though

White put down a good run in qually, but he can do a lot better - especially with the new mctwist trick. Nobody has even beat his easy qually score yet
Is that new trick the one on his facebook? If so that is mental, and if he pulls that off he'll win

so the score he posted earlier can still win him the gold?
it was a qualification score - they get 2 runs and the best score is the one that is taken to qualify them to the final.

Top 3 in each qualification go to final, next 6 from each go to the semi. Top 6 from the semi go join the 6 who have already got to the final.

really hope they introduce the slopestyle, terrain park event for Sochi in 4 years - be great to see Shaun White compete in that too. It's a great spectacle and should definitely be an Olympic event. Don't understand why it's not one already.

he has certainly got a bit of competition Shaun White. But you sense he's got plenty of tricks in his locker than will ensure he stays in front in the final. What time does it start UK time - is it 3am?

the tricks are so tough that is so hard to complete 4 or 5 ina row

compulsive viewing. White could win gold in next 2 or 3 Olympics if he keeps his motivation. I just wish they introduced more snowboard events like slopestyle and maybe even a downhill or at least a super G - 2 boarders racing head-to-head down the mountain - imagine that!!!!???
snowboarding is no longer a joke sport, or one for the kids. I think its brilliant. White was outstanding, I did get a lump on @ 1.4 and never thought about laying off. Even his qualifying run was never bettered was it?

agree , between that and the Snowboard X the other night fantastic viewing, is there a more exciting sport out there than SBX, quality stuff imo...shame it doesnt get more mainstream coverage
maybe it will soon, I think the bbc coverage for the olympics has been poor anyway.

Its like the winter olympics aren't as important as summer....and all they bang on about is "britains medal chances". I personally dont care about britains medal chances, I want to see the best in the world and exciting events

totally agree. The BBC have made the live coverage about as clear as mud. I love Ed Leigh's enthusiasm though. Well done for getting a bit of 1.4. I got 1.34 and was more than happy with that. The terrain park slopestyle may come in in 4 years time at Sochi - that is also brilliant to watch and White will be hot fav for that as well.
