As far as I understand it Uk races will never go off before the scheduled start time. I assumed it was the same with US races, but twice now I have been caught out with a race going off early.
So can they just start when the feel like it? The 2:37am at prairie downs was finished by 2:34. The live stream hadnt even become available yet.

US off-times are a movable feast. The races are numbered and whilst the proposed off-times are generally adhered to, if there is bad weather approaching the races can be compressed to get the races completed earlier. Unfortunately the live stream provider is rarely up to speed with any revised off-times so the video is not always available. I advise loading an earlier race and keeping the feed open. It will stay open for the majority of tracks, but not guaranteed.
