Fair few outsiders in the 20's and 30's win at Penn. Mike must be laying the 3 digits
|
|

As I’m sure you know, when studying something for as long as I have you get a 2nd sense about things.
I don’t Lay all 100.0 plus shots if I know a trainer or a jockey who pulls the odd result out of the bag. But yes, most of my lays are 50/1 on the ATR morning line, which usually means they are a million. On here, greed is enemy. Nicking £30 or so daily on here gets me £1k per month, if all goes well. Accidents of course happen, hence the last 2 years have each been £7k + each. You have accept these things and move on. |

Bad day if this 8 horse wins the 23.54 @ Penn

00:22 CLAIMING
1st 6 6. Royal Suspect 34.8 2nd 5 5. Moti 7.6 3rd 7 7. Charging Lion 3.2 8 ran. NRs: Sepicato, Zippy. BSP 179-1 Went to bed at just the right time. And bang goes the theory. |
|
By:
179-1 that's 3 digits
|
|
By:
ah I didn't see the BF SP bit. I was knackered after the darts last night and went to bed. Mike's theory was silly anyway, and this proves it
|
|
By:
exactly, I hope Mike got lucky and has a serious rethink, bonkers betting.
|
|
By:
Betfair sp 179.41 hope you dodged it Mike and the 66/1at Charles Town with an eye watering betfair sp of 476.07.

No,I didn’t play.
Looked back at the Penn website which quoted an SP of only 20/1. Unless it shows 50/1 on the Morning Line, I don’t get involved, esp at 00.22 in the morning. The BSP looks interesting, but as I have hinted before, I don’t play just because of a big price. BSP OF 179/1 for a 20/1 shot in a 6 horse race, very odd. Wish I could find the full result on the ATR site, to establish if I would have played, but it was definitely not 50/1 so unlikely that I would have been tempted. |

Genuinely glad you avoided it Mike -all punters are only ever a click away from being wiped out.

Outsider only 8/1,but at Penn it’s a Lay

It’s Friday and no Penn. Things ain’t what they used to be, that’s for sure. |

Four weeks' less racing plus 7-race cards next year at Penn. Rothman's beer-money to take a hit.

Hope they don’t cut the Friday evenings as that may hurt a bit.
Do have another string however, still get up early for the Australian fodder. If you can’t kick a few quid on the Aussie outsiders, you’re not trying . |
|
By:
Well that was about the strangest race I've seen. 3 horses, maybe 4, unseated I think.
|
|
By:
what caused it Darlo? Will it be off?
|
|
By:
Didn't see at first, in fact I completely missed it to the extent I thought it was innocuous. On the replay looked like one of them went down on the bend and certainly the horse right behind and perhaps one more had nowhere to go.
Certainly a delay to racing now. No idea if it's injuries to jockeys or horses and/or track conditions. |

By:
20 minutes late but racing continuing.
|
|
By:
cheers, at least they're racing on.

Penn still filling the after-pub slot on a Friday night.
Nice to see that some things don’t change. Beer money secured on the 11.00 opener, as per usual, although the outsider did manage a distant 3rd. |

Still here, though Australian still top of the pops

Next year Penn National is going to reduce the number of racing days and they are not going to have live racing in April and October. The revenues of the local casino have been declining…
I still remember when they used to have live racing 4 or 5 days per week, the 12 months of the year, with 9 races per day. |
