Maybe it just didn't take to the new barn or the track change? Always a risk when a horse has made a switch. Still annoying though.

Could be what it was Cooee. More likely the track change, because althought the barn change was neagtive in terms of percentages, it was moving to a quality barn.

First-Claim Figs were good on the barn, so there shouldn't have been too many problems. Can never tell though. Sometimes horses move into a barn and simply find themselves in a different part of the pecking order, so even a good-quality barn won't always be able to keep the horse at the same confidence levels as before.
As you say, though, the track change is the most likely factor. The US tracks are much more standard than they are over here, but I still find the results much more consistent when the horse's last run was over the same track. |

I completely agree with everything you've said. The first-claim figs are what make me think it's less likely to be the barn change, but as you say, you never know.

Also backed 1 at 17.0. The return to a fast track and cutback in trip could suit this. |
