you traders and book balancers must work your own magic now sorry it has come to this
punters move forward as they always do
over $27k on that last at Charles town
the market seeders let the aikens out to $9 before a late flurry on the psot time (best time to be was early)
praying for jerry
he used his speed horse to drive clear early breaking the field up
was I worried at the 2f .. yes .. the short priced fave was making his move on the tearway
jerry has a quick look under his left armpit .. and extended his charge once more
in the bag at the turn ... still nervous .. of course .. its horse racing
but a punters dream those odds .. you don't get too many
I nust leave you guys .. I love the punt ..
you were just disturbing my equilibrium with your constant thread complaints .. which is why I responded
YOU CAN WOK THESE MARKETS at the 2 to 5 min mark .. I know it .. good luck
all the best guys
well there you have it guysyou traders and book balancers must work your own magic now sorry it has come to this punters move forward as they always doover $27k on that last at Charles townthe market seeders let the aikens out to $9 before a late flu
you are making out this suspension is bad for punters
that is not true ..
it might be bad for you
so stop your crying please .. its making my keyboard wet
put your bets on early
reap any rewards you are due
but waiting .. race after race after race after race ... till they close the betting ... and then saying you missed getting your bet on is horrendous and complete BS
you want races open so that you can trade out of a horse that plays up before they jump
JUST WHO DO YOU THINK WILL LET YOU ESCAPE YOUR BET .. they will ALL be trying to offload that horse
maybe ask BF if just YOU van get your money back when something goes wrong before a race
oh and yes ... please stop posting anything yourself
you are the worst of the lot Razoryou are making out this suspension is bad for puntersthat is not true .. it might be bad for youso stop your crying please .. its making my keyboard wetput your bets on earlyreap any rewards you are duebut waiting .
Thebas is Betfair. good work. You will never see me get used to crap. Take a look at the other posters. I suppose there all wrong and you MR Thebas/Betfair is right.

cause there are two issues in the whining that I see
razor wants to get his money back through laying off a horse playing up
but NG and others are saying the race closed and they didn't get their bets on
the simple and proven answer to that is .. get your bets on earlier ... that then stimulates the trader/market managers (probably just bots anyway) and the cycle continues
get your bets on earlier .. there's your answer ... unreal who would have thought
razor is in a world of pain of his own .. he wants some other sucker to let him escape a bet where a horse is playing up .. different kettle of fish
it isn't under the same banner .. and punters who are punters have their bets on and are looking at the next race while the current one loads
are you saying you didn't get yout bet on NewGuyis that what you are sayingcause there are two issues in the whining that I seerazor wants to get his money back through laying off a horse playing upbut NG and others are saying the race closed and the
you have to change razor .. you know it .. it just doesn't work trading off the punters anymore .. the market managers are trading of us ... and you are left in the cold with a suspended race
you are worth the time for me to explain this to you .. so I will

are you saying 3000 and 8000 matched due to early suspension is better for bettors or the exchange than 25K matched and an on time suspension?
I don't know where you are getting this trsders took over part either.
The facts are that as of the third week of May the market management has been terrible.
How difficult is it to close the races on time when you've been doing it for the most part for 15yrs?

don't know where you are getting this trsders took over part either.
well that part I don't know NG .. someone said on here a while back as they were complaing about the markets .. that it is traders suspending the markets earlier
you make enough sense to me in what you say that you would understand that if this hurt BF financially then they would do something about it as any business would
I can only assume that it is BOTS that are shutting down the markets .. this is only an assumption though
but my assumption is based on the fact that the shut down times are not consistent with anything .. like the loading of horses for example (ie up until the 2nd last horse for example)
the only affected party as you mention would be BF themselves .. as each dollar played into the pool will at some point have a commission extracted from the winning party
the punter who does form study (such as myself) has an "idea" (not perfect) of what a value price is for one to four of the runners in a race .. so that value price can be 'hit' at any point from inide the viewing shots from the racetrack which start 10 mins out showing the on course tote prices (in odds) from the USA
everyone then seems to wait until the tote moves again about 5 mins out .. and a mini scramble starts ... small dollar plays
at the 2 min mark it takes another movement ... and a punter is either on before or makes his move then
this waiting around until the least horse loads scenario where the belief is the 'best of the prices' will be had is not what I see with my eyes
if players are just waiting to see where 'the money" goes to follow it in on the basis that the horse is a 'goer' for want of a better word backfires as often as it correct from the limited looks I have had
so by traders waiting, waiting, waiting, till the last second before unloading might have been the very catalyst that the market managers (and traders themselves maybe as suggested by others on her) have had to fight against and their method is to shut it off at a favourable position to themselves
who knows .. but these threads are not doing anything to change the minds of BF .. as someone contacted them and posted the contents of the email .. which said they see no reason to change the market management from how it is today .. ie suspending early
and that is where we are I guess
don't know where you are getting this trsders took over part either.well that part I don't know NG .. someone said on here a while back as they were complaing about the markets .. that it is traders suspending the markets earlieryou make enough sense
Lesser participation adversely effects everyone including you.
If Jerry had run in any of the other 3000-5000 matched Charlestown races instead of the 25,000 matched race, it is less likely he would have hit your price threshold.

yes that's true razor .. but can't traders at least try to stimulate interest in the markets
for example don't expose yourself but put your pending trades (well) outside the current bets pricing .. even if they have no chance of being taken
it tells the seeders that potential is there this market ... and maybe they will creep towards your offerings
don't do it with 100% of your bet totals for the race .. maybe start with 15% to 20% of what you want to move about in the race
who knows .. some backers might have priced their horses out/in where you are and take a silly offering .. allowing the potential for trading to begin
backers will come in at some point also .. they want to bet
all the best

also true NG
but I had no interest in the 3000-5000 held races .. as did few other backers .. and there was a reason for that
so if the traders don't play with the seeders in those little-interest-for-backers-races ... then you can write those races off for trading these days
but there should always be enough money in the right races (multiple solid chances and a somewhat false standout)
all the best

how do you know there was very little interest with the races being suspended at 5mins to post? don't believe that Charlestown had exactly one bettable race on their entire card? how do you know at 5mins to post if the tote may offer a better price?

.. because I use my eyes NG
and I think like a backer
traders are waiting too long to enter the market .. they don't even put up ridiculous potential trades at long value even to stimulate interest
stop thinking like a trader and examine the mind of a backer
if you don't .. then you will always be waiting & waiting in races where only the traders are playing with the seeders
the backers won't be involved in those sorts of races
each to their won .. we agree to disagree again
a bit like the Monty Python .. do you want the $5 or $10 argument
I am getting set in markets
you are not
one of us is doing something right as backer .. as a trader you are doing something wrong because the market suspension occurs before the trader pulls the trigger
this has been going on for 3 months now
if BF wont change .. then you might have to
I'm done for today .. all the best ..
I assume we will redo this same conversation all again tomorrow

The other possibility is that there is an unacceptable delay between when the actual stalls open and the actual vision of the stalls opening.....

Razor ... that may be the case .. we have not established why just yet
however .. I searched long & hard through the T&C and other areas of BF's help stuff and found nothing relating to market management etc
UNTIL .. and here it gets interesting ... if you wish to pursue this (in a civil manner I humbly suggest) with an email to betfair and a basic cut & paste
I have opened DEL 9 race to look at the market .. it is a lowly maiden with and odds-on pop and just 2 others under 10/1
this does not look like a tradeable or bettable race so I will watch only
HOWEVER .. and who does this ? .. I clicked on the RULES tab on the betting market page (I use the old sports site so maybe it has been changed on the NEW sports site which I do not like)
so go to RULES tab .. and it actually says the following for this race in the USA !!!
---------
MARKET INFORMATION
For further information please see Rules & Regs.
Who will win this race? This market will be settled on the official result - horses running for purse only will be scratched. CARD NUMBERS ARE A GUIDE ONLY. BETS ARE PLACED ON A NAMED HORSE. Horses are NOT COUPLED. Betfair Non-Runner Rule applies. Dead heat rules apply.
This market will be CLOSED at the off with unmatched bets cancelled once the Betfair SP reconciliation process has been completed (if applicable).
-------------
NOW .. I did not put the market close at the off in bold.
It is bolded on the betfair screen
in your best & most civil behaviour .. if you have the same info on your own screen .. then send this in an email to betfair and ask why they are NOT closing the market at the OFF
it appears to be their own rule ... so an opportunity exists for you to request an explanation or a change to the rules section on the page
good luck with it

caring ... and adhering to their own stated rules ... are 2 different matters I guess
if they have changed their rules (for whatever reason) then they now need to update that RULES tab on their own page to reflect what the action is about the off
