yes the timeframes are the killer when betting outside your country .. which is why the US suits me better
I can get up at 5am and punt the US through till about 10am-11am (shower & brekky in between lol) ... then have a 2-3 hour break and be back for the locals ![]() |

hard to tip in the USA WiswW .. the faves are all under pressure as the rest of the field ride against them .. the shorties have a tough ask .. BUT
having said that .. I like the 2nd fave in the next at Woodbine #7 .. but hard to take it under $3 will have to wait & see .. maybe yes maybe no still 5 mins to go (next few mins will decide with the odds) |
By:
3 mins to go .. no interest by punters this race up near Canada lol .. still a good watch I reckon

By:
#7 firmed late WO .. someone got on in the $2.95+ range ... but not me
fresh after 44 days but work has been great .. watching only |

layed Conquest Strate Up at the 21:26 Woodbine
By:
WO 1-7-2-6
top lay WiseW .. the #7 worked just off them out wide .. drove hard at the turn and hit the front with a half to go .. but collared by the #1 the final stages ... a bit fresh and the lack of racing told late .. and the odds a bit skinny ... good effort tho |
By:
the #1 was very big odds and no money came for him
By:
yes none at all .. was a last start winner but switching back from the artificial to the turf surface scared off a few
had big run 3 starts back "on the turf" in a $250kStakes and this was a $150kStks .. so was in it on paper . .. a lot easier AFTER the race lol ![]() |
By:
haha definitely alot easier after the race! so where we off next?
By:
DEL 8 next .. a 2yo race but a high$ alw
the #2 is fairly strong late on its last 2 starts ... and has the form .. the money is OFF it and onto the #1 who is dropping back from a close placing in a $77Stks race #2 is the value but why the drift ? |
By:
layed Gala's Bank at the 21:45 Delaware Park
By:
DEL8 1-8-2-4
nice lay again WiseW .. the #8 well back in the field and no hope really a win but finished off strong to nab a distant 2nd smart money on the #1 .. the #2 a huge drift and hung on for 3rd the scooted the first 1/4 in 21 something .. fairly flying and the winner was setting the pace ... the owners will have fun with that filly |
By:
easy does it. alot of money came for #1, it seemed confident. time for one more?
By:
small lay of Chubby Charlie at the 22:15 Delaware Park
By:
little between the #1 and the #4 next at DEL 6f
both ridden by 5lb claiming apprentices with the #4's jock having the best record in the whole race the senior jock to thwart them is on the #3 and it will be the pace type but it doesn't finish off strong but won its last start in a slow race the #9 has the girl Campbell aboard and is a big finisher .. but she will have to negotiate a path very tricky .. maybe the #4 for me but you'd want some odds .. not just the $4 range imo dunno lol |
By:
all the best WiseW ... just saw your lay ... tough race
By:
DEL8 was looking for 6/1 plus the #4 .. they're not gonna bet that .. watch race for me .. good fortunes all
By:
DEL9 of course lol
By:
DEL9 9-8-5-4
nice lay again WiseW Janelle (looking great in the jodphurs) and her her horse too strong late there .. the #3 & #4 showed no interest early going back last and second last lol .. with the short priced fave not a winning chance at any point good work to the winners (and the watchers ) of that race |
By:
what a beaut. where to next captain?
By:
well they're mostly maidens coming up now .. and ive not got another to look at till Zia 11 (in my fave New Mexico lol my winner today) where I'm scouting up a first upper #7
7.30am here so a shower & some brekky for me ... good fortunes WiseW ... you've got there's so a great run ![]() |

9.57 Woodbine - The 1A received an unfair start and the stewards declared it a scratch runner Even though the other coupled horse finished 4th it was also declared a non runner and betfair also treated both as non runners and refunded bets on both. I thought betfair ignored coupled runners for betting purposes ?

pulpdan, I know which race you mean. I was thinking of laying 1 of those horses but decided to skip betting on that race. I think Thebas will be able to answer your question

Strange, i've been betting on US racing for ten years now and i've never come across something like this before.

interesting scenario Pulp ... (it almost sounds like "fiction" how that all panned out)
who knows how BF handle things and there is nothing in their rules page I can find and yes they are COUPLED in the States not independent runners like on BF where BF have already stated that the "NUMBERS DONT MEAN ANYTHING" and everything betting wise on BF is handled by the horse's NAME only but how it is handled in the USA is as follows if one of the stablemates is considered a non-starter then the linked horse is deemed to have run for "purse money" only and all punting bets are refunded on ... both horses its worth sending an email Pulp but in the past you'll find that its "no correspondence will be entered into" in relation to once a BF market is settled good luck |
By:
Pulp ... here's the Equibase race result page that explains what happened in the USA
https://www.equibase.com/premium/chartEmb.cfm?track=WO&raceDate=10/12/15&cy=CAN&rn=9 what BF do is beyond my understanding though ... I thought it was name only for betting on the US (ie stablemates do NOT exist) in the US the non-scratched stablemate was given an official placing ... of 4th in the race ... and received that 4th place prizemoney |

woodbine and belmont park have to be the worse tracks for favs winning

R11 coming up at Zia in about 6 mins and a stinko affair for sure (sometimes that's good sometimes not lol)
the on course market has the #11 the money horse .. and BF has the #11 clear on its own its a shipper coming in .. has raced in much better grade at Santa Anita before then changed stables aand the new trainer gave it two (dead?) runs back in August where you couldn't get enthused at all about its performances .. now freshened and with no public works who knows .. the market (dunno) .. the players (dunno) so its a back or its a lay .. make up your own mind lol I was looking around it at the #7 earlier on but there's no confidence in it on the market at all has had a nice enough work here at the track though and is a bit quick with a most unfortunate habit of weakening late in a race LOL 5f was probably better suited as the 5½ here can see them swamped late ... but fresh is its only chance I guess of holding interest to the wire I thought 8/1 plus was fair and its opened up well short of that .. so no opinion me .. yet I suppose good fortunes to all in a very tricky sprint race coming up at grand ol Zia |
