Good luck corkie, a sad reflection on what use to be the best forum on Betfair. Whilst it prospered it must have boosted the turnover and BF have thrown it away by ineptitude and neglect. Just had the winner at FL (aftertiming) but rarely bother with US now.

MP R1 difficult start with the race being switched to main track, thought 9 would be scratched, dislikes dirt but they may have got lucky as nothing really wants to be on the pace, was tempted to place lay but its dangerous witha soft lead a possibility, the 6 going turf to dirt first time must have every chance, prefer to play 1 & 7 at the prices though gl all

MP result 1-2-7 the 9 never asked to race, out for the jog round so that it is not exempt next time turf race is on

a lot to like about this #7 imo and is a NAP for me, still lightly raced and loves the artificial, has genuine trip excuses last 2 tries here and the extra furlong upto 6.5f tonight should be perfect, strong fancy for me to take over on he home stretch under leading jock morales. GL

on at closer to 9/5 mind, the price has just collapsed

Well you have to take some damage with those horses. You can never tell whether the layoff is ominous or not, but as long as you're finishing ahead with level stakes, you're making the right play.

But then I guess you know that!!

You bet on a lot of races Cork, and you seem to turn a good profit on them.  I can only make money overall if I'm very very selective, so you have my full respect.

Would be nice to see more faces on here. Sadly I can't see it happening. PC2 seemed to drive most of them away (strangely - can Pulgita really have been a PC payer??), and the liquidity gets worse and worse, so there's not that much to hang around for.   

It always surprises me that US racing isn't more popular, given the clear consistent form and the amount of interesting stats and figures you get to work with. I suppose the entry price to the best stats is quite high though. It costs me around £80 a month to get the data I'm really happy with for US stuff. In contrast, I spend less than a tenner on the UK racing!!

Lordbobbbin, I would as a rule probably cover maybe 75% of a full meeting, say like MP tonight and would expect to end the night in profit from my plays, for me I can only play that way, and then on occasion cherry pick the odd race at other meetings.

Liquidity can sometimes be a problem, but thankfully there is the tote option available to us which I use for approx 40% of my plays, mainly exotics of course.

The golden rule is to stick with what you are comfortable with, don't get enticed to play meetings you know nothing about or are on your  banned list when you are bored (like Zia tonight) and accept that you will have a bad day every so often, there will always be tomorrow and no one says recovery has to be made in one hit, just go about things the same way and don't bring emotion into it.

hi ya cork i had to stop coming on these forums everyone was picking on me indeed lord the battles with TC were very enjoyable, you still doing the dogs corky? i only ask as in the past 6 weeks ive been to crayford about 6 times theres 3 bookies there not taking a penny and laptops and i phones everywhere so be aware , i wouldnt want you getting ripped off lol

Well for me it's about finding an angle into a race, and I only have a handful of angles that I know work. As soon as I step away from those, I find myself betting without having much of a clue.  If I bet 75% of the races at one meeting, I'd find myself playing too many races where I was, at best, no better than the other punters - and you can't turn a profit that way!

Agreed on the emotion though. That kills off most otherwise-profitable players.

MP R9 could end up with two banks of horses stacked up behind the 8 here, so it might be tight for room at the bend, 5/6/7 should all be challenging, just prefer the 6 covered 8 in case it slips the field, gl all
