Just watched the replay. It switched sides four times behind the horse infront, after losing it's prominent position & then running on late. Didn't looked gassed to me.

To be fair to the wolf the horse is a complete rogue, have lost a lot following it, gave up on it last time out, record of 2/28 and the fact its wins were a neck and 1/2l under Whitney & Diaz respectively speaks volumes.
In addition don't think the wolf would be capable of stopping one on purpose

haha Cork, yeah it didnt find as much as looked likely, but when you cruise up on the bridle and hit the front travelling better than anything else in the race you need to still kick on and get the job done, the 7 appeared on the scene and took the wolf by syrprise when he could already have been a couple of lengths clear i think.
