Just a quick comparison of how the US racing has died a death here. The equivalent race 4 at Monmouth 2010 had £26,150 matched on win market and £4699 on the place market. Lets see how this years race does.
I'm not sure ATR would employ him for much longer if he started ranting about ATR's coverage! Negative opinions about BF probably wouldn't be too welcome either.

The people **** on Betfair will mostly have made up their minds about the issue already. Those not on Betfair won't give a stuff. All Mr Q would achieve is the demise of his own job as a television pundit. There are times to be brave and speak out about things, but only when it can really make a difference. Otherwise it would be just stupidity.

watchit - in Q's defense the meetings ATR are covering are not the ones that he get's involved in.
I don't watch ATR but I assume that Mr Q gives his opinions on each race (as it sounds like he's employed to do that) but he doesn't post picks on every race on here, only when he fancies one (I think). So it's understandable if he's got zero right - he might not fancy any of them
Q's actual hit-rate isn't amazing, but he comes up with great bets at substantial odds on a regular basis, and that makes him extremely profitable. It's certainly true to say he'd probably be ignoring most of these races tonight if he was betting at home, though.
In all honesty, I don't know why anyone who takes their US racing seriously listens to ATR. It's primarily there to service the brain-dead monkeys. Even when Mr Q's on board!

Jas has gone purple and isn't posting selections here any more. Ditto Bluenose. TC hasn't participated for several weeks. Horts is still around, although I'm not sure I've seen him for a few days now.

His form looks good, and the pace probably won't be a problem (as it was in the last race). A lot of runners though.
As a rule, Stick, I never play win bets. I just think there are too many factors that can prevent the best horse from winning - Place bets are more consistent.

Very short odds on fav @ Saratoga which (imo) has created value. Both 4 and 8 are waaaaaaay too big.
The Sara fave does look pretty damn good on his one race so far. This is only his second race though, so he could easily bomb out. Probably laying him to place at 1.1 might give some value.
If Gm10 had put both of his horses to place, he would have done very nicely from that race!
Try a tiny amount on the 2 to place at Mth. 2.8+. This horse is better then his last race suggests. If he settles for the new trainer, he could be good.

You need to be careful with the price when it comes to place bets. They can get a little skinny - your 5 was only 1.25 in the place market.

I'll have a small bit on the 2 to place at Sara. Don't really like these big field races, nor do I like turf (hence the 'small bit' bit). But the 6 has a decent amount of class under its belt, and looks like it could cover the extra distance well.
It was over 1.7 when I placed the bet. Getting towards 1.6 now, which is starting to look a tiny bit short.

You're probably right on the shortness MightyPurple. I usually only play two or three races a night. Today I'm playing small bets on lots of races, more or less to try and get some spirit back into the forum... I guess some winners would help!
Actually, just realised that the evens was in the win market. Yes, 1.35 to place definitely too short, so I'm out of this one.
Yeah i heard some interesting stuff about the purple site following the PC introduction last week.
I take the 1 to place at Hastings instead. Hopefully there should be a decent amount of pace he can take advantage of.
Volumes certainly seem to be improving there Big Purp. If only they decided to advertise a little, they could make a go of it.

Advertising is awful, but i see they are one of the sponsors of the Irish Open Golf next week so may that will be the beginning on it.

That figures Mighty Purp. My 1 came 4th at Hastings! I can't remember the last time I had so many losing bets. That's the problem with posting on the forum - I find myself placing bets on lots of races I have no real feeling for, rather than waiting for one or two really good ones to smash into.
I have no interest in turning back into a losing horseplayer, so I'll stop posting. Night.

Bit of a two horse race here. Win and place # 2 and # 6 at Emerald.
Alot of very short prices at Emerald tonight with the rest of the field way back in the betting that and form suggests enough to me that they are worth backing.
